Always an amazing experience. The staff is super friendly and the drinks come out fast and delicious. The food is super great and fresh. I would recommend the chicken wings as they are very delicious. I like the atmosphere as it is usually quiet with good music playing softly. Not very crowded and the prices are decent. Overall I think anyone staying around this area should visit here, I spend a semester at UCD and came here once a week for wings and a pint and loved it every time.
This is a treasure that I have found in Donnybrook. Arthur Mayne's Donnybrook has absolutely amazing food and fine drinks. They also have a selection of craft beers and you can order a testing palette to try few of those. Which I ordered indeed I had a dinner there soup of the day, tuna, burger, confit duck leg and selection of cheese board and everything was delicious. Staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. I would also like to mention that they have very calming and relaxing atmosphere with great not annoying music. I highly recommend this place and I definitely will be back soon.
Update: I had a very questionable experience there. I went there to get the burger and was told that I could only get it “well done” to make sure there would be no bacteria in it. Now I question every dish there. I was never told I could only get well done burgers “to be” on the safe side. I am not sure if I am going back there for food or could recommend the place as I did before, and I am lowering my score from 5 to 3 stars. And lastly, I had the worst seafood chowder there. All the ingredients were there but the mix was just off. Original: I found this place by accident. I have seen them before but thought they were just a bar. They are so much more than that! Great ambience, crazy good food and amazing drinks, totally blew my mind and their service is phenomenal. At this point, I have been there enough to say: the food and drinks are consistently good, even when they are busy. Also they have their own beer and it is amazing. The Guinness equivalent is worth trying! The duck and the burger are phenomenal as well.
Very nice place. Unusual for Dublin, with character and interesting decor and atmosphere. Loads of different drinks including beers, wines, cocktails and food looks delicious and of generous portions. Has garden for smokers and just to sit outside.
Have to say this was the best burger i had in town, really delicious and thick chips, with a Guiness to wash it down made it better. Ambience was a mixed bag but 5 stars from me nonetheless!
Really good gastro pub serving excellent food. Interior has that rustic feel of an old traditional pub. Menu is not overly extensive, but there's enough to meet the requirements of the majority of people. What they do, they do well. Staff are attentive and very pleasant to deal with. Good spot for a casual bite and a few social drinks with friends.
We only stayed for 1 drink, but good spot. Mgmt should have noticed only 1 out of 3 barmen doing their job, the other 2 dragging their heels and never lifting their heads to see who needs to be served - it was clear as daylight. Either give a raise to the one doing all the work, or change approach on how much work each is expected to do. Good drinks, nice atmosphere.
Great food especially wings n burger ! atmosphere has lots of character and most staff superb, but there is a chap that works there with red hair makes u feel like super unwelcome for some reason unfriendly demeanour despite giving him many chances … like he is just not happy to be there ?! he needs an attitude change big time doesn’t hurt to smile and be friendly abc of hospitality industry just like the rest of the team there !
Our favourite pub near at home....always good service and the soup of the day the best.....don't regret to have it
Nice staff, good food. Just get rid of the oversized TV and some of the customers. Now that Kiely's is closed, this place is attracting some of that crowd. Couldn't they just stay at home. A really nice pub apart from that.
