You can easily reach Arsenal Emirates stadium and Arsenal Museum from this station.
Arsenal station is home to Arsenal football club and is just a 2 minute walk to the stadium. The Piccadilly line stops at this station. On matchdays the station is rammed with football fans and can take a while to get out & also get in to the station. On a normal day the station runs fine and staff are around to help.
Went once as an away fan and hated the station they didn’t open the barricades at the end I got stuck by someone who lost there oyster. Your cramped in for about 2 mins if the other stations aren’t fit for match days then they must be tiny
Opened in 1906, this station was originally named 'Gillespie Road'. After Arsenal Football Club moved to Highbury from Woolwich in 1913, a campaign began to rename the station after the football club. The station was eventually renamed 'Arsenal Highbury Hill' in 1932, after a campaign led by then-Arsenal FC manager Herbert Chapman.nnTo this day, it remains the only tube station named after a football club.
Small underground station, not so boisterous during a non match day.
