Quick efficient service, much more streamlined than it was in previous years. Quick to order, a 'memorable word' to bring up your order at the till and soon waiting for goods to arrive at the collection point. Impressive service and the fastest I've seen having used Argos occasionally for over 30 years.
Properly just one in a million occasion but I Found my experience with this place shocking from the start.. First of all should have been opened at 10am but they was late opening up, then there was no staff to be seen on the shop floor apart from one on tills. I paid for fast track and I would have been better not bothering as no one was many the fast track till anyway. When I finally got someones attention they wasn't very happy to be serving me.
Reserved item the day before it rose in price, when collecting using my reservation number they tried to charge me the higher price. I raised this and they corrected it but at the end of the day their reservation system should cope with simple matters like this. Odd how these errors always seem to go in the shops favour. Would have at least expected a simple ' sorry for our error ' or similar. Generally though Argos is great and in the past have handled any issues with returns etc with great efficiency.
Several times now I’ve had to wait up to 30 minutes to get to a check out. I know many people now who have have had the same experience, one of who now refuses to go in. Management is rude to customers and impatient when there are complaints. There is a lack of organisation but problems could easily be rectified if there were some offer of customer service. My wait today was due to cashiers all dealing with setting up credit agreements and/or time consuming problems. One cashier was even scrolling through the catalogue making suggestions etc. There should be a separate desk for these sort of issues and/or management, on recognising these problems, should intervene quickly. After over 20 years in retail I find it astounding that a store that sells itself on its speed and ease of use is regularly so incompetent. It should be one star but cashiers are helpful and polite.
This store has experienced staff who know exactly what they are doing and sadly some who do not but appear to be christmas staff. We had ordered a product that came in two box to make item, we had staff load into car for us due to weight, only to find when we got home we had half a product. This matter is now resolved but you cannot simply call the store you have to phone 0345 number go through loads of options for their mistake. So I'm out of pocket for calls and extra 3 visits to store! Had I got experienced staff member they would know that product type comes in 2 box's!
Since the system has been changed over to the new one early 2016 the service can go from very good and being served quickly, to completely awful wherre i was waiting over half an hour to get my goods. It's a typical argos whereas you look in the catalogue and buy your stuff either through reservation or collecting in store, but typical in the way where if something is on offer you probably cannot buy it as its always sold out.
Absolutely awful place! You can't get a refund from here unless you lie through your teeth. The staff question you like you wouldn't believe, especially Jamie! I felt like I had been interrogated for hours and still couldn't get a refund!!! Plenty of staff on, but noone seems to know what their doing, absolute shambles of a place. I gave up in the end and took it back to Ripley where the staff were much happier to oblige! I will never step foot in this place again.
Always queueing, daft layout to collect items. Don't seem to understand their fast-track process. Have to pay to park near the store.
Absolutely disgusting Service Chloe has a bad attitude and seems to be a very angry unhelpful person. They do NOT refund VR Occulus GO so do NOT bother buying this product,especially if you get served by her, she does not want to hear your story and has already made her mind up into saying NO REFUND! We will be issuing legal proceedings.
Very unpleasant shopping experience. The shop is really cold so sitting waiting is not a pleasant experience. Staff were sullen, unhelpful and unfriendly. I normally go to argos in heanor which is a nice store with lovely staff. Sainsburys - please rethink closing heanor store and improve your recruitment criteria for staff at argos Alfreton.
