Visited on a Sunday. Went for a family swim in the teacher pool. It was over run by older kids throwing watering cans and lobbing balls. Too noisy so a little kids pools where you'd think it be okay to take your two and four old without smacked in the face with flying watercans. The pool was cold both kids lips turned blue quote quickly and the changing rooms were absolutely disgusting
Pool is lovely, not too chlorinated, designated lane swimming. Shame I only got about ten minutes in the pool because the lady on reception didn't tell me it was closing soon. Couldn't say anything when I left because there was load of people waiting! Private pool party maybe? Haven't been able to find a program for pool availability on the website.
Although I’m no longer a member, I still try and use the pool fairly frequently. I haven’t used the gym or been to a class in years but it was always very clean, excellent range of machines, and a really good range of classes with knowledgable and helpful teachers. The facilities are clean and accessible. I’ve never used the play centre as that was installed after my son was appropriate age, so I can’t comment. The cafe serves pretty decent food, at a slightly higher price than I’d normally pay, but captive audience and all that! ‍ There is plenty of parking, both for disabled and then two subsequent car parks with easy access via the road or the bridge into the centre. I would advise to take it extremely easy in the carpark, as it is gravel on top of a matting system, which wears down over time and leaves quite nasty potholes. There is a good range of swimming timetables, lane swimming, open swim, and the kids pool is lovely and warm. The changing rooms are mixed, but with lots of cubicles, including some family sized ones, and also has cubicle showers, sinks, hairdryers and plenty of lockers, both small and large, that either take a £1 or a trolley token!
I came here 6 years ago when my daughter was a toddler to age 4 and she loved the teaching pool, shallow enough to feel safe with mini fountains and toddler activity wall on the side. Now shes 11yrs and so happy to swim in the deep end of the main pool, it's a really great atmosphere and super clean. The showers and changing rooms for the gym and swimming are both spacious and clean and much better than our shower at home The lady at the front desk and on the phone is happy and welcoming with all the information you need about schedule etc - really helpful! All staff seem just cheerful and happy to help. I used to use the gym here when I lived closer and it's all new equipment and a good selection. The cafe bar is also great with good quality food at reasonable prices - love a good fruit smoothie! Big thanks to everyone at Arc! Hope to visit again some time : Ps- parking is now free and they have a second overflow carpark if its busier.
Great facility. Took the kids swimming, there was loads of space jn the big pool even with a few swim lanes in place. Coffee was great, I wish our local leisure centre had such good coffee! The snack and food selection looked good too. Lady on reception was very helpful as we’re on holiday so never visited before. Would definitely visit again
Clean and has friendly staff. This place is small but perfectly formed! Also it has a deep 25m pool so can do things like practice Water Polo.
Went with my granddaughter and Great Granddaughter, little one played in soft play we had a lovely meal.
Possibly the best public 25m swimming pool in Derbyshire. Wish I lived closer to make it my regular pool. Clean pool, great changing village and beautiful design. Parking is pay and display on gravel, with step on path to main building. Disable parking next to entrance on normal road surface and good drop off point there too. The whole building is set on the side of a steep hill, so steps and lifts are needed to access different areas.
Clean friendly staff. The onside cafe had a good choice and the cafe staff really helpful and food fresh and tasty
Fantastic baby pool and splash wall my almost 2 year old loves it. Very clean lovely facilities would recommend
