Aqua Vale Swimming and Fitness Centre

Really great pool! However, I wish they would do a different price for those just wanting to use the Olympic pool for fitness/exercise- over £5 is expensive for a simple swim and no use of the slides and lazy river. I appreciate they need 1 set price due to having no control over who goes where. But you could maybe have coloured bands or do something! Apart from this issue it's a nice clean pool.

I have a love hate with this pool. It's a great pool, great facilities. My daughter loved the rapids and slides but...it's filthy, rusting and often the showers aren't great. It's fairly priced but it needs to be kept cleaner and some.maintenance work needed to keep the place in tip top condition. Other pools are much nicer but they don't have the cool bits like slides and rapids.

Good facilities for swimming, a link between the main pool and play pools. Couple of flumes and a small "rapids" has a couple of smaller slides suitable for kids accompanied. There is an intermittent lazy river style circuit complete with water spray. Plenty of lockers, changing facilities for families can be limited. Pool can be a tad cold but generally OK. Parking is OK but is limited at peak times.

The only leisure pool of this type in the area, so when the kids want to go to a fun pool (as opposed to swimming lessons), it is the only choice. There is always a queue at reception and staff are disinterested at best. Changing area is always pretty dirty and the other day there was one working toilet of four in the gents. The worst thing about this pool is that it is COLD! Really cold. I can barely get in and kids are shivering after a short period of time. Life guards are nearly always half asleep, especially early on a weekend morning ( best time to go to avoid queues). This leisure pool has potential to be great since its facilities are good (slides, lazy river, tunnel, water game type things), but it is consistently below the standard that can reasonably be expected. Main faults are it's cold and dirty.

Visited kids swimming areas. Good things: Very nice pool, separate area with slides for babies. Nice layout, lazy river, water slides for bigger kids. Free parking (pay £2 and get refunded at till in entry by a resenting the ticket stub). Family changing rooms. Bad things: entry queue can get very long after 10:30 on weekends. Pool temp can be cold (about 1 in 5 visits it seems to be quite cold). It’s a bit tired, could do with a deep clean.
