Another place in Tooting where you can get really nice Tamil food. The price is slightly better than other Tamil restaurants in Tooting with perhaps better atmosphere. Mutton Kothu is so nice here and the normal Mutton Curry. It’s also BYOB and they provide glasses but not mixers but still staff are very accommodating and friendly. Must Try
A lovely curry just with in walking distance from the tooting Broadway that can get popular packed. I recommend a dosa pancake stuffed with spiced meat. You can bring your own alcohol and they also stock some beers.
After a first visit we really want to return for more. Not flashy or upmarket, but food was tasty and exciting, and service was calm and good. The aubergine curry was super! We then had kothu which was yummy but we didn't understand how to eat it, so we ordered as a main but it'd go better as a mix with other curries. Great value and will definitely come back cause we very much enjoyed the food! And want to taste their crab massala which apparently is amazing.
Great value BYO curry house in Tooting. BYO places are becoming more of a rarity in this area, so it was great to find somewhere still offering it. Yes, the decor is old fashioned, but you don't come here looking for good decor, you come here for a delicious feast and that's what we got. Lovely flavours, decent portion sizes and excellent value. Can't go wrong!
Having just returned from Sri Lanka I was craving a proper Chicken Kothu. I found it here with some amazing samosas and tasty treats. Definitely worth a visit. I'll be back.Food: 5/5
Great local Sri Lankan/South Indian food in Tooting. The restaurant itself is quite basic but the food is good and the service is friendly. Our waiter gave us some good suggestions and between the four of us, we shared the mutton rolls, fish cutlet, chicken pakoda, butterfly prawn great, mutton kothu good, chicken ceylon fave, lamb rogan really good and saag aloo with side of pilau rice.
Recommended by my hairdresser for a great dhall. Got there early, greeted warmly and given plenty of time to think. BYO allowed but alcohol available. Best onion bhaji. Dry and delicious. Ordered 3 veggie sides and pilau excellent . Loved it all and took a bit home for lunch. Old school decor and fantastic waiters. MarvellousFood: 5/5
Recently visited Apollo banana leaf it was very pleasing environment inside the restaurant. The menu consists of all my favourite srilankan dishes chicken 65, kothu rotti, fried rice and briyani. It was so delicious and aromati. I would love to visit again. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Food: 5/5
The chicken tikka starter was generous portion as a starter , not bad flavour but the quality of meat full of water, probably packed with soya protein to make it bigger! and the very red colour of the meat spoilt it all Fried king prawn starter were small and presented really poorly on a plate The mutton and special biriyani tasted and looked exactly the same We asked for one of them biryani extra spicy only and we got them both extra hot I had to order mango drink for my partner to cook down the heat!!! The service was quick and nice to us BYOB is positive but the rest need to improve
This is a must try! The food is absolutely delicious. We've eaten in which has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and also takeaway. It's so good and you should try their recommended dishes from something different from a regular curry house. The devil mutton, kathdu, stringhopper fry and cashew padkora are highlights
