It’s the best curry place in Tooting. I have been there more than 20 times, as I was living in Tooting for 10 years. I have tried most of the dishes on the menu, and they have never disappointed me. The food’s great; seriously, this is the best place to go for curry. I love going with a large group of people, as you can order more dishes to share. The bread’s the best; I like the one with me, and I’ll eat this every single day. They don’t sell alcohol, but you can buy it outside and bring it with you. You pay £2 or £5 pounds for your own alcohol, but better than a restaurant where a beer or a glass of wine is now around £6. I thought you couldn’t book, but the last time I went, my partner booked a table for us. So, I will recommend booking it just in case, as it is always busy. For sure, I’m coming back, probably next week, as it is one of my favourite restaurants in South London.
Not a great deal of atmosphere to the place and reminds me of a canteen but this is somewhere we've been back to many times over the years. No alcohol served here, a shame but understandable as a Pakistan based restaurant, however I do believe they allow you to bring yourself if you would like. Prices have risen since we first started going but dishes are nicely cooked, authentic and well flavoured for a reasonable price. Four of us attended, had the obligatory poppadoms and condiments for a quick snack, unfortunately no lime pickle but possibly that's more of an Indian addition. Curries were very flavourful, tender meat and a reasonable amount of heat, I had a lamb madras which was very tasty, warm but not particularly hot and certainly nothing to detract from the nicely spiced dish. Three portions of rice split between the food of us worked well, especially as we all had naan Peshwari and Plain and again these were very tasty. Well definitely be back next time in the area.
Me and my partner came here for a lil dinner date we pre booked a table and when we arrived it was not ready and had to wait at the back of the queue behind walk ins. The waiting time was not bad for how busy it was in there they did not even check to see if we had a booking. I really liked that you can bring your own alcohol drinks if you want to but me and my partner decided to have the mango lassi it was not that creamy and sweet. The food was very bland and basic it did not woow me at all. I asked for the starter to come then main after we finished eating but they brought our mains out just after receiving our starter. I just asked them again if we can have it in a bit and he said yes and took it away and waited until we were ready. It was really nice that you can get a takeaway box if you don’t finish your meal.
Visited many times and never disappoints - the food is really authentic and delicious! Always order the Saag Aloo and Rogan Josh, and highly recommend. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Also good value for money. 5/5
This place definitely deserves a high rating. The food is really great – fresh, aromatic, hot, and perfectly seasoned. Every dish we ordered was exquisite, and it was clear that the chefs put a lot of heart into preparing the meals. The service also deserves praise. The staff are polite, helpful, and professional, which makes the visit even more pleasant. The waiting time for our order was quite short, which is another advantage – we didn't have to wait long to enjoy our meal.In summary, I recommend this place to everyone. Great food, quick service, and a pleasant atmosphere make it a spot we will definitely return to.
Considering how busy this Pakistani restaurant is it was a remarkably underwhelming experience. The tables and seats are tightly packed in, with much of the food pre-prepared and on display canteen style. Being so crowded and large glass windows only echoing the noise, it’s frequently as loud as rowdy pub at 9pm on a Friday night. Staff are very quick and keen to turn over the table as quickly as possible, so expect them to be cleaning your table down the moment you’ve paid, to prep for the next guests. When asked which of our dishes was which, we received a near indecipherable two second blast of “thatistikkamasakatharisbutterchicken” before he dashed off. So paradoxically service is both bad and very fast at the same time. But the biggest issue of all? The food just wasn’t that tasty. From poppadoms to naan, it was serviceable but uninspiring and inconsistent. The tikka masala was not too bad, but the butter chicken terrible. Lahore Karahi is definitely edible, especially if you like loud and lovely venues, but otherwise you’ve got plenty of better curry options along the High Street. If you found my review or photos helpful, please leave a quick thumbs up Thank you!
Super easy to book online and change our booking as we were running late. Super nice service and good but loud atmosphere. Imagine you are in in a bustling south asia market. Food was worth a go, we don't have the stongest spice tollorance and even there mild food had a kick. Parking: Parking on the surrounding street was easy, just a small walk. It is free after 5:30pm monday - saturday, free all day sunday.
I really appreciate staff they’re very cooperative and polite. Even food is delicious. We had spend great time. Thank youFood: 5/5
We didn’t have a reservation but were seated pretty quickly… this place gets busy! They maximise for tables, so you are pretty crammed in, takes away from the atmosphere a bit but I understand why they do it. Food here is really good, the menu is varied and has a lot of options for veggie and meat lovers alike. Good flavours and decent portions.
We ordered from UberEats, all our dishes arrived cold, covered in oil, very greasy and tasteless. Special mention for the multicolor rice which looked everything but natural. Will never order back.Food: 1/5
