Really worth a visit if you are in the area. Many Original pieces of furniture, great guides taking the time to tell you all about Hathaway and Shakespeare. Loved it! There is a small cafe there for refreshments and plenty of space for a picnic. The carpark is only a few hundred meters away and easy to walk from. There's also a gift shop selling plants and memorabilia.
What a great experience seeing the family home of William Shakespeares wife. It is so well looked after and near to how it was when she lived there. Its has 12 rooms in total, 10 of which are open to the public. There is a nice little place to get a drink and snack, public toilets, small gift and parking.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
I prefer visiting this cottage to Shakespeare's family home in Henley street, in the summertime. This is for several reasons .The queues are much shorter. Easy parking.Interior furniture is similar. The garden was the ' pharmacy'. The well at the front door supplied a micro brewery for the family and their farm workers. There is an orchard and it is easy to see where livestock would have been grazed, crops and herbs grown. The kitchen has a bread oven. Many interesting artifacts. Well kept house and gardens. Gift shop too. Very photogenic. Staff are friendly and helpful every time I visit.
A lovely step back into history. The gardens are beautiful and the cottage itself, well laid out and interesting. The guides in the cottage were very good and gave us lots of interesting facts.
Dropped off at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage from the ‘open top’ Stratford Upon Avon Tourist bus. We were on the first of the morning @ 10:00am from the Tourist Information Centre. Visited on a truly lovely weather day Tuesday in May it was quiet. No queuing, pleasant and very informative guides. Pleasant garden strut. Picked up return bus one hour later
About a 20 minute walk from Stratford town Center. Nice gardens, cottage is original and tons of character. Car park. Shop. Definitely worth the effort.
A must do if you visited Shakespeare birthplace. We went this place the first thing in the morning after purchased a package tour.We arrived at the SP birthplace at circa 3.50pm ams was hesitating if we should buy to tickets in advances as not sure how it’s working. They allowed us the visit SP birthplace on arrival? We spent 40 mins and enjoy our visit here even I am not a fan. Will recommend this place to friends who visit UK.
Great place to visit! The furniture and layout of the house showed off what it would have looked like in that time period. The best part about the tour were the guides! They're such lovely people talking about the history and little facts they knew about the place. Heard they're seasonal workers so I hope they get a more permanent set up. Went 10:30am on a weekday, so it was quiet when we visited.
not the most exciting historical place i’ve visited. it’s set out ok and there are some interesting facts to be learned during the short narrative’s by the staff. Not much else to see other than the garden walk which needs some TLC in my opinion. The open top tour bus stops there which makes it easy to get to.
Lovely place to get off the open top bus tour and explore. Beautiful grounds, sculptures and a lovely little coffee hut.
