About

We are a hotel, bar and restaurant with a warm welcoming atmosphere, home cooked food and real ales.

Story

We serve traditional pub food and have regular daily specials. Our restaurant is extremely popular so we advise that you book a table for evenings and weekends. In summer, we have an extensive outdoor area for a pint or to dine alfresco, and in winter you can book a table by the roaring fireplace.

We have 16 en-suite bedrooms (some of which you can see in our photos), as well as a function room that's ideal for weddings, other celebrations and even conferences.

We also offer free Wi-Fi and are a family friendly venue, offering a children's menu and outdoor play area to keep the little ones smiling during your visit.

Had a fabulous meal last week at the Anglesey Arms. It was the second time that we have been there and just wanted some dinner on an evening. I rang to book just to ensure that we could get a table for three and that we could take the dog. Luckily they are very dog friendly and us and our pooch were put in the conservatory section of the restaurant. We all had the pie, two steak pies and I had the cheese pie with the cheese sauce, and it was amazing. Kind of like a cheese pudding but with a lovely short crust pastry, chip and peas. Nothing special but it was delicious. Desert was also really nice I had a cheesecake.nnThe staff were excellent and the service really was first class. Definitely somewhere to visit if you're in the area and just want some pub grub for a reasonable price and value great service and a friendly atmosphere.nnAlso worth mentioning that as an EV car driver I was pleased to find Tesla EV chargers type 2 slow chargers for all cars that support type 2 AC charging in the car park. They were free for patrons of the Anglesey Arms and so after the meal my charge had gone from about 65% to 96% when we left. This really was the icing on the cake of a nice evening out.
Do not be put off by the car park!nFelt a bit dubious when we pulled in in the dark behind the Waitrose, but we were thrilled with how well equipped, comfy and spacious the room was.nThe reception desk is at the side of the bar but the bar is a nice typical Welsh/English type pub.nWe ate breakfast and dinner at he hotel and enjoyed them immensely.nThe staff were so welcoming and friendly, wished I could have taken them all home with me.nWill be staying again!!
Visited here last week for the first time on a recommendation from my daughter who is at Bangor Uni. We all had roast dinners and I have to say it was one of the best roast I've had out for a long time. Added benefit it is dog friendly but I would book in advance as it was very busy. Great service
FOH in this place are amazing — very affable and engaging.nnMy low rating is because we came for the roast and it was not good. My star is for the pea puree and scallops, which I think are hard to mess up as a professional chef. I think the roasts are churned out with little care and attention and it really shows. The stuffing came in very dry balls, the beef was very over done and the gravy was congealed.nnAs I said, the waiter and waitresses were so good — the food was just bleh, for me.
Lovely meal at the Anglesey arms yesterday from the early supper menu.nGood food, great value and excellent service. Very dog friendly and our cocker spaniel Henry really enjoyed his sausage side! Thank you.
