Definitely a 5/5. To start, the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They also seemed really happy at work, a concept I'm not overly familiar with. The food was amazing. Well cooked and well presented. I was a little disappointed that we had no room for dessert. Great selection of beers and dog friendly. You couldn't really ask for more.
Wow what a wonderful place. Such a warm welcome and the food is so good. They had run out of chicken kievs but said they would happily make some more if we were willing to wait. The chips were gorgeous as was everything else. I wish we lived closer so we could become regulars. Anytime we are close we be eating here again. A true dog friendly place - I loved meeting their dog Bilbo. If you are nearby definitely give it a try
This pub is another fantastic pub stopover in our campervan for us! All of the staff are polite and professional especially the manager "Serena". Serena was wonderful and made our visit so special! She made the effort to make sure my Guiness was just how I like it! We ate at The Anchor and enjoyed a gorgeous steak and ale pie each that was loaded with meat! It was lovely and the beautiful beef dripping chips and gravy were the best! It's just a shame that we don't live locally as we'd visit regularly! We'll definitely revisit again when we're in the area! Thank you Nigel and Claire
The service was great really nice staff and good selection of drinks. Only place that serves food on Sunday evening. There was vegan options which was ideal. I was disappointed with the food as it was underseasoned and the veg and ingredients did not taste fresh, so we feel it was overpriced. I wouldn't recommend the fish pasta dish. I wouldn't go again for food but definately a nice place for a drink.
Highly Recommend We made reservations for 10 ppl, letting them know about the allergies in the group. They accommodated all of our requests and made sure that the kitchen was cleaned the night before and all the allergens identified were removed from the kitchen before we showed up. The food and service was fantastic. I sadly forgot to take pictures of the Turkey Dinner and Christmas Pudding, but trust me - fantastic.
Super great place to eat. Really stellar staff. Really great food too, I'm not a vegetarian but I really appreciate that there's an entirely vegetarian/vegan oriented menu on top of the regular menu to save the hassle of picking out the options. Great selection of beer on tap too and a nice view if you're sitting outside, although the tables are next to a relatively busy road so it can be noisy at times. Only thing stopping a 5* review is the lack of parking not something they can control though but and the fact that the dessert took around 40 minutes to come, which might not be a regular occurrence but it meant staying quite late and almost cancelling it just to get home. Overall great experience though. Could t recommend it enough.
Small Locall pub for the far outskirts of the village 'tideswell'. Hospitality: 4.5/5 service staff were on point with tending to our needs. Opinion: Waiting times for meals slightly dragged on; but maybe they just have a small kitchen though. Food: 4/5 food was good quality with a decent selection. I had a chicken kf - first time having one out so I realised I like store brand more Also I had cheesy garlic bread - taste was good a the size was serious value for money! Others had a chicken burger which were okay. Although I was hard to hold as one. For desert I had a vegan cheescake can't remember name. Which was excellent for a vegan desert! Building: 4.5/5 The inner out outside layout was very suiting to the countryside its based in. Unsure whether ther's enough room to cather everyone on busy days. Also for total seats inside - the carrack could do with a extension
The food was fantastic and the wine was excellent. Loved coming here last Saturday and will definitely be back. The staff were so friendly. Thanks!
Me and my step-mum were staying in the area and made a last minute booking for some food. The staff were so friendly and smiley, and really just make the visit even better. I didn’t take any names sorry but the there was a lady with black hair and had piercings if that narrows it down, haha.. but she was super attentive and welcoming. The food was so good, I’ve attached a photo of the chicken Kiev for reference - my stepmum highly recommends this. Overall, a really nice pub on the outskirts of Tideswell with a fab vibe. When we’re next in the area we’ll certainly be popping back!
Wonderful staff. Incredible pub food. Easy to park. Affordable. A wonderful drive to and from the pub too. Perfect for people visiting the Peak District
