We booked in for 3 nights for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary this last weekend 25-29 Aug. The room was great with a sea view. The food was well worth it and to say the staff were brilliant would be an understatement, nothing was too much trouble. And the village fate was on over the Saturday. All in all really enjoyable stay and would love to go back.
Fabulous location, decent amount of parking, good outside spaces. Dining was in a marquee, to the side of the pub, which was pretty shabby, seating and tables not great either. Food was OK, not particularly well presented and quite pricey for what was on offer. Service was quirky, mainly youngsters but they got the job done. Would visit again but probably just for drinks.
Amazing staff, brilliant food and a creative menu what more could you want? Dog friendly, people friendly and a real buzz about the place! Some places you can eat on the coast are a waste of time and money this isn’t one! Try it for yourself… easy parking and worth a visit. No photos had too much of a good time.
We stopped for lunch. Service was excellent. Two ploughman's, gorgeous cheese, ham etc. A fish and chips that was top notch. Delightful. Bottled water a bit expensive, but that was the only niggle. Really recommendService: 5/5
Very nice pub with impressive range of gin wine and beer. Service is excellent and staff very friendly . They also serve food but not all day can't tell you much about that. We were lucky to have some chips around 4pm.
Just had a lovely family lunch out at the Anchor. A warm friendly welcome, and plenty of helpful staff. Doggos are welcome in the marquee, which was surprisingly warm. The prices were not cheap, but you can see why, as the food was top notch. I had the burger, which was a proper meaty burger, that I only just about got through. Everyone else's looked lovely too. Situated in a lovely little village. Nice range of ales too. Would happily go back. Thanks.
Great service from Luke, Alex, Rose and her brother sorry can’t recall your name. Lovely food and we had a fab time. However appalling ‘service’ from Jane who was so rude to us that, had we not known you all, we’d have walked out immediately. We love the Anchor but you have to do something about Jane’s approach to customers. Sorry.
Usually pretty good.. only reason for 3 is because of my last visit. Got home which is 30 mins away to find out that my kids meal was not in the bag. Let’s just say we had a very unhappy child. Good luck trying to make a complaint online about it because it wasn’t easy to find.
Food was great and pub was cosy. Close to the beach for a nice walk. Would’ve given 5 stars but the older waitress there was quite hostile and not very nice.
Ate at the anchor in April and had a great experience. Went back end of October 2022 and had a really poor experience. It was raining and so no outside seating. Marquee where we dined we had our dog with us that in April looked reasonable, was looking tired and shabby. My husband’s fish and chips was heavy on the chips and a small piece of fish. My crab and chilli linguine was dry and not hint of any heat: it was also poorly presented. I twice gave feedback on the linguine, and left most of the crab meat as it was over-cooked, yet still was charged the full price. We won’t be coming back. Poor quality for the price. Paying for location of the village but don’t expect a great dining experience!
