The Anchor pub is conveniently located on Cambridge Road in Wadesmill, deep in picturesque Hertfordshire. Friendly atmosphere but food not hot enough.

In the times that we have been, we have often had slow service but the food is relatively cheap and of decent quality. We've been with larger groups mainly and recommend booking well ahead. The atmosphere is cosy and the menu reflects a 'home made' aesthetic. There's plenty of parking although it can be poorly lit at night.

Lovely character pub with a good choice of ales.Went there for a booked meal with a group of six. We was told straight away that they had no steak which also meant Mixed Grills and Steak and Ale pie were off the menu...Starters were good ...main course "The special"which half the table had was disappointing mine had gone cold due to the ten minute wait for one of the other meals to come to the table.For dessert I had the Chocolate Fudge cake and ice cream which you could have hot or cold, I chose hot but it came up lukewarm,. .thankfully the ice cream was cold. .Staff were pleasant.
