I love this place! No bookings are taken, which I like. It fills up quickly and rightly so, the food is amazing. I've never had a bad meal. They do a few things really really well. The best katsu curry I've had and the specials are always great too. I would choose Mr Tanaka's over anywhere else in Hertford. The service is great, it's not over priced and the owner never fails to take time to talk to you to make you feel welcome and help with any needs.

Fabulous atmosphere and food. I've been to Japan and you guys are the only place I've been in the UK that feels very authentic to how it would be served in Japan. Friendly staff whom were/are always helpful. Out of everything I miss since moving away from Hertford it's you guys. Your food is the best.

Always greeted in a pleasant manner and the food is always tasty. Some may find the menu limited, but this makes the decision easier for me. Always good for a lunch time treat

First visit to Mr Tanaka's this evening. Food was excellent and can't wait to go back. Love a restaurant with a small menu . Staff very friendly and helpful.
