We had a great time as novice skaters. Session timing/length could be clearer on booking confirmation as our session was 2 hrs. Parking arrangements were confusing as there was another major event at the venue, so the entrance to car park nearest the ice rink was blocked by railings and stewards, but they allowed entry for skating. Clear signage would have helped. I also got charged twice for parking...
We bought tickets in advance for 7pm 31 Dec session. They cancelled the session and did not bother to properly notify anyone. So we drove for an hour, went around closed ice rink together with a bunch of other folks just to be told by a guard that the session is cancelled. Their emails went to the spam for everyone who was there. This is the standard UK service, so better choose a more reliable ice rink
Lovely Christmas ice skating experience with a Christmas tree and Christmas music. A 2h session was more than enough. However, ice and skates could be better.
The rink was way too busy. I appreciate it being a bank holiday but it was far too dangerous as people were falling all over the place and there were no staff to assist them with getting up. If you are a serious skater I would not recommend coming here unless you've booked a private session. And they seem to enforce rules like wearing earphones when it suits them. There is nothing on their terms and conditions to say that you can't wear them, however it seems if you know the staff you can get away with whatever you like!
Great facilities in general and beautiful ice rink. My only issue was that the 11 o’clock session looked more like a figure skating session rather than a public ice skating with way too many kids/teenagers swinging their blades around, stopping suddenly and/or going in the opposite direction. Was very difficult to skate without having to stop or change direction every couple of seconds.
