Amazing, stunning, spectacular. I can't say enough how wonderful this hotel is. From the moment you step foot in the hotel, you are transported to a different time. True old-world charm . The rooms are modern yet reflected what it must have been like when Prince Albert stayed there. The gardens are all so English. The staff is amazing and friendly and delightful. There is a restaurant with an excellent selection, bar service, and breakfast is served in the most delightful morning room. Great location to see all the Isle of Wight has to offer.
We stayed one night here as a couple during the Isle of Wight Festival and we felt very well looked after. The staff were attentive and polite, the grounds are stunning and the barman was great. The inclusive breakfast selection was large and the ingredients were delicious. We'd love to come back and spend more time.
Cool historic property with beautiful grounds. Our room was fine, nothing really incredible and the bed was rather antique and wasn’t quite as long as I am tall. Staff was friendly and lounge area inside and outdoors are very nice and comfortable. Bus stop is a short walk down the street and there is plenty of free parking on the property as well.
I went for a lunch here. The staff were eager to help and seemed efficient. The food was nice despite a little bit of repetition - moulded into rounds and mini onions on two dishes in our menu. The building itself is really pretty but the interior feels like it needs refreshing with very tired carpets on the way to the function room. It is a very long walk from the front entrance to the event space and there are only 2 ladies loos for however many people you invite in the event end of the hotel.
We tried Sunday lunch again but we're very disappointed. My wife had to send her beef back it was very tough and my chicken was ruined by the overpowing jue. Vegetables were very overcooked and roast potatoes had been hanging around for a while I would say. We mentioned all this to the staff who seemed pretty disinterested. It's not cheap but we felt cheated and won't try again. I would be happy to be contacted to discuss.
