Aksular was absolutely delightful! The spread was generous and beautifully presented from freshly baked simit and warm bread to rich cheeses, olives, honey with clotted cream, and a perfectly brewed Turkish tea.nnEvery bite was full of authentic flavors that transported me straight to Turkey. The menemen scrambled eggs with tomato and pepper was especially delicious and creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The staff Hatice was very welcoming and attentive, making the whole experience even better.nnThe cozy atmosphere and vibrant dishes made for a relaxing and satisfying morning. If you love hearty, flavorful breakfasts, I can’t recommend Aksular enough!
The food at Aksular Restaurant was absolutely amazing! Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was incredible – Hatice herself was so attentive, friendly, and welcoming. She made us feel comfortable straight away and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Her openness and warmth really stood out and made the evening extra special. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere.
First of all the food was good and can be the price are justified by the food quality. In other hand our nights get ruined because of the service. This waiter, Hattice, maybe she have a problem with someone else or something personal, but I felt the most racist look and services during my dinner. Never in my time living in this city to be treated as rude like that, even words cannot describe her attitude. Hospitality business could be so tiring to met lot of people with their own character. If you could not handle that, maybe this is not your place. Thanks.
Very disappointing experience. The food was terrible. The meat was burnt, extremely greasy, and tasted bad. The lemon served on the side was clearly rotten, which is completely unacceptable. This shows a lack of care for food quality and hygiene. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be ordering again.
I have visited Aksular on Hertford Road several times, and unfortunately my experiences have been consistently disappointing. Initially, I gave the benefit of the doubt, as I understand that issues can occasionally occur in any business—I am a business owner myself. However, when a restaurant positions itself as premium and charges premium prices, higher standards are expected.nnOn one visit, I ordered a portion of chicken wings for my daughter and was shocked to find multiple hairs still attached to the cooked meat. This was not an isolated hair but several, across different wings. It was extremely unhygienic and unacceptable. When I raised this with the staff, the response was simply, “Sorry, they come like this,” which was both dismissive and alarming. This is not the level of accountability one expects from a restaurant charging £60–£70 for two or three meals.nnGiven the pricing and reputation they aim to uphold, basic food hygiene should be a minimum requirement. If such a visible issue is overlooked, it raises serious concerns about what else may be happening in the kitchen.nnAs someone from a similar background to the restaurant owner, I find this particularly disappointing. Poor food quality and a lack of concern for customer experience are not things that should be tolerated at this level. Sadly, based on my experiences, I will not be returning, regardless of any future offers.
