The Salisbury Arms is situated in an historic building in the centre of Hertford. As is normal for such buildings it consists of a amalgam of small buildings into a larger whole thus corridors include many odd steps and snaking routes. The hotel is a welcome change for us business users for a stay with family away from the corporate hotel. 
We were in room 15 which had clearly just been decorated ( Feb 2018) and was clean and pleasant. 
It has a car park which we were not charge for using. 
We only had a snack whilst we stayed which consisted of a baked potato 🥔 and a 🍻. The beer was from the cask and was kept well. The potatoes where last years main crop but past their prime and something was wrong with them. The chief should have noticed they where not up to standard before allowing them in that's days produce. They also lacked any butter and the prawn one had a very small portion of prawns. This could have been a one off error and would not prevent me returning for a snack. Not so sure if I would go back for a main meal.
Regardless of this I would stay again as I rarely eat in the hotel I stay at and the room was good. 
Room 15 is at the rear of the hotel and noise was not an issue. We stayed with family some of whom where in the attached annex and they found this noisy and it disturbed their sleep

It was just adequate but over priced. For 95 pounds I would expect to be able to have more than one cup of tea and coffee and to have more than 4 sachets of sugar between the two of us. I would also expect large towels and to able to shut the cupboard door.

Absolutely fabulous place. I've lived in Hertford for 35 years and stayed there for the first time the night before my daughter's wedding. Lovely rooms, friendly staff and atmosphere and fantastic food

Worst nights sleep ever. Noise from the street and then from the pub, loud voices etc! Although the rooms are decent enough the sound is monstrous and I would recommend, if you want to actually sleeep; do not stay!!!
