Absolutely love this place. Always a warm, friendly welcome. Throughout the winter the fire in the lounge bar is extremely cosy on the harshest of nights. No other pub in Hertford can give you the same experience. Great staff, friendly locals and a cracking selection of real beers and fruit based drinks for the ladies (if that's their fancy).

The oldest pub in Hertford. Fuller's outpost in the counties. No tellies or fruities. Lager drinking is frowned upon.

Genuine, totally non-poncey, old-fashioned pub. A modest selection of very well kept beer. Lovely, snug, lounge rooms upstairs, along with a pool table. A good place to come with friends and beverage social, with good drinks.
