Awful service. Booked what I thought would be a reliable taxi on the app the day before. My booking was confirmed and the price was estimated at £3.50 for my 5 min journey. Phoned on the morning for peace of mind, so glad I did. I was told that every booking on the app gets confirmed but it’s apparently controlled by London and not operated by Wakefield. I was told I was unlikely to get a car at first and then was told I could get the taxi that I had ordered. My train then got cancelled so I rang back to tell them I would be 15 mins late- greeted by questioning and rudeness- and told they would only come out if I was defintley going to be there- comforting for someone not familiar with the area. I was then told the £3.50 cost quoted was inaccurate and it was more £13 for my journey. - this is what I was charged- no meter in the taxi to monitor the cost so was easy for them to overcharge me. I had to get the bus back back as I could no longer afford another taxi and didn’t fancy a return journey with this rude, unreliable extortionate service.

Despatch is awesome. But one of their drivers is a trying to scam people then complains the whole way and instead taking the straight road takes the round road.

Been using Ace Taxis for around 5 years and never had an issue. Fast arrival, on time and prices are reasonable; better prices than Uber at times.
