Great vets. Our puppy required stitches after an attack and all the staff were brilliant in explaining the treatment, helping with the insurance claim and aftercare. I felt happy leaving my puppy in their care for her surgery. Highly recommended.
We have been using abbey vets for many years for our three labradoodles. They are passionate about their patients and always go the extra mile to make sure their health and wellbeing come first. The downside of any professional service is always cost, even a 15-minute appointment cost upwards of £50, I just wished that vets had a more affordable fee structure. Still no complaints, we would happily remortgage our house for our boys well-being
Friendly staff, but when you call it can take a long time to get through. When sitting in the waiting room you can see the receptionists chatting while they leave the phone ringing... Vet nurses knowledgeable, helpful and informative however they were asking for near constant monitoring of our pup which meant the costs added up for effectively no treatment. We were happy checking the injury ourselves for swelling/discomfort
Friendly and knowledgeable vets. Pricing was steep until went for second round of vaccinations and realised they charged for entire course on first visit, just didn't inform of this. Big down side is how hard they push their pet plans on you, stop harassing people with this, just give the leaflet and leave out the 10minute speech by vet followed by same again at reception. Also speed up the payment process, half tempted to walk off while staff spend 7 minutes to finish their conversations and get the paperwork
Absolute shocking took our dog here on Saturday to be told to go home with some tablets and nothing was wrong. Well absolute shame on yourselves and anyone else who takes their pets here. Told she couldn't feel anything and all seemed well so off she sends us home. So today our boy began being sick again so off to pdsa in gateshead, to then be told our dog has to go to surgery because he has something stuck, to be told and broke our hearts it's touch and go. So shame on you Abbey vets for not seeing our dog was poorly. Definitely won't recommend
We took our family dog to the vets after she got Ill during the night. Vet couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her but aired towards she had cancer. Only way to tell was to do bloods and ultrasound. We decided to leave it until the Monday rather than booking her in as an emergency. Turns out she’d been licking her paw where a wart was and given herself an upset stomach. Not cancer at all. Thanks for the worrying diagnosis but saved ourself about £600. We won’t be returning and this also isn’t the first time we’ve had concerns over this practice putting money over patient / family welfare!!
Wonderful veterinary practice. Can’t fault the care they have given Gandalf my rabbit over the years. Knowledgeable staff, friendly and all the vets, vet nurses and reception staff are wonderful.
Lovely and friendly experience today. Took my 10 week old puppy and what a great service. Will be using Abbey Vets for all future services
Brilliant local surgery. Very friendly staff, who were kind and gentle handling my dog. Haven't had to have any treatment or long term visits etc as of yet, but the initial consultation and dispensing of flea/worm treatment we visited for was absolutely perfect. Covid safe, happy vets, happy pets. Will be my new local surgery!
Took the dog in for vaccinations, due to covid only one person allowed per animal which kept the waiting room quiet. Taken on time and vet was very thorough on the check up hence the 5 star rating
