Excellent first time experience using this place for a big clearout. We had mostly organised items in to what could be recycled / general rubbish and put it all in to a VW transport. There are LOTS of recycling options available so you can mostly sort everything. Electricals, monitors, clothing, paper & cardboard, wood, metals, light bulbs, garden waste, general waste etc…. The check-in process was very easy, we had pre booked through the website just the day before. It is a smooth process when you arrive. They just take your booking ref and you have to give two proof of address, they accepted a digital copy of one of our bills. We had to drive on to the scales to weight the van, which is just on the floor as you drive in to the entrance. I’m assuming this is just to make sure we weren’t bringing any heavy industrial waste which is chargeable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly in tell us which skips to sort ours items in to. We didn’t feel rushed at all, though it wasn’t busy at all at the times we visited. Would highly recommend it for anyone in Brent.
Great location right in the centre of brent. Good amount of space for cars to be parked next to the recycling skips. Everything is close by. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Here is some information for residents from their website: The amount residents will be charged at Abbey Road HRRC is based on the total weight of the items you bring to the sites. For every tonne 1000kg of waste you will pay £160. A minimum charge applies, if you bring the waste in your car you will be charged £16 for up to 100kg or if you use a van the minimum charge is £32 for up to 200kg. Please note that apart from the minimum charge for cars of £16, all other charges are rounded to the nearest whole pound and that weights are calculated to the nearest 10kg.
Absolutely ridiculous I cannot believe about stuff very rude attitude is a rubbish damage to my vehicle just about to check inside the vehicle call the police . Who is the giver the permission . White lady she's racist I want to make complain against her she asked me about my religion where is the law what's happened to this country very same for system
Visited today for the first time. Helpful and friendly staff. However, no access for pedestrians. Had to walk some 200m on a bendy road with no sidewalk to get to the centre from the main road, which can be dangerous. I will be writing to Brent Council about this - how can people without car use this recycling centre? Not all appliances or other items can be recycled at the small size containers in our neighbourhoods.
The TRADE section is ok as long as you can go when it's not too busy, but you do need to be registered and have the necessary forms filled out. Minimum trade charge £33 Private cars can take certain waste free, probably have to live in Brent
I had a situation where I was wrongly advised to visit Abbey Road with bathroom tiles and told this would not be a chargeable waste. I’m fact, this is classed as a building material and as a result I had to pay over £25.00 to offload a few tiles. I understand this is how you operate and it is the error of the council representative who wrongly advised me however I don’t understand why you can’t confirm the price / weight before the items get offloaded? This weighing before and after really needs to be more transparent to let me know whether it’s within their budget to use this service or not. I find it unbelievable that as a Brent council payer I have to pay additional costs to dump tiles at an external company such as yourselves however I find it even harder to understand why this service you offer can’t be explained properly to people? Would you not agree the weighing before and after needs to with a confirmed cost?
Useless staff ! As a trade company I should be able to get in Monday to Sunday between 8am to 4pm. I've been refused to get my vehicle empty couple times getting on weighbridge at latest 15:30. The guys at weighbridge told me I have to be out at 15:30. If that's the case why they don't change the operating time and keep sending us out when i have to get empty to carry on other collection after. Very poor service. Not happy at all
I dropped off some old chairs this afternoon. I met a few of the staff who were incredibly friendly and helpful. I was happy to to find out that my chairs would be fixed-up and go to charity. 100% recommend this place.
Visited first time today and place is well fine.However after dumping my rubbish I discovered my car would not start.One helpful customer offered to jump start my car but that didn't work. Then on the scene came staff members James and Laura who pushed my car to a safe place and tried to get my car started.Laura even used her own car to jump start mine.They tried in vain for half an hour to get my car working.They went above the normal call of duty to help me without my asking them.Eventually I got a recovery vehicle to carry the car away, myself included.Those reports of staff working there being helpful are indeed very true!
