Bought a lovely little folk guitar at Abbey Music the other day, and managed to get a good deal on a guitar case to go with it too! The owner Dave was very knowledgeable about where the guitar came from, the build process, and what kind of sound to expect to get out of it. Would recommend Abbey Music to anyone looking for a good deal on a guitar!

I found Abbey Music thankfully searching the web because I wanted to find a guitar shop with that could give me a more personal service and not just try to sell me something that wasn't right for my son. Wow, this guy who owns it is a legend and could not have been more honest and helpful. After buying a cool guitar and amp for my son it spurred me on the go back and buy one for myself even though all I need now is to learn to play!!! Go see this man and Abbey Music..I will never go anywhere else now....Kenny Hickey

First shopped here a few years ago with my oldest son who was 12 at the time (now nearly 20), and returning again with my youngest who is 14 to buy his first electric guitar. Such a helpful owner, really knows his stuff and won't sell you something you don't need. Prices are very reasonable for all equipment. Can't recommend enough for beginners and pro's. The best music shop in the South. Review posted December 2017. Edited review March 2018: Yet again David at Abbey has excelled. He ordered a rare 8-string Ukulele for us and it arrived the following day, at a price cheaper than anywhere on the net. Can't get better service than that! Very happy customers. :)

This is the most amazing little shop. Knowing absolutely nothing about guitars, I wanted to impress my partner who has played for years for his birthday. I walked in with nothing but a budget and within minutes Abbey music had put together the best kit I could ever have asked for. My partner loves his guitar and is very impressed with its capability. You can buy just about anything online these days however it doesn't come with any guidance or the expertise built over years within an industry. It's so important to support local shops and the people that know what they're talking about in order to have access to this kind of service. Dont just go in and seek advice, buy the product! Since our usual music outlet closed two years ago we had been looking for an alternative to feed my son’s thirst for his acoustic and electric guitars and all that goes with it. Eventually we found Abbey Music and have been using them exclusively for the last seven months. The service we have experienced is outstanding. The advice we receive from the owner Dave is precisely tailored to my son’s needs as he progresses and adds to his set up. In my son’s own words “Abbey Music is an amazing music shop for beginners because they always have what you want and recommend exactly what you need.” Highly recommended.
