Great bar and restaurant. I've been here for drinks on a Friday night and for Christmas lunch on Christmas day and on both occasions I had a great time. The stay are lovely and welcoming, the drinks and food are spot on and value for money is brill. I'd definitely recommend!! Plus I love the decor of the place.

Visited today... lots of menu choices, hubby will highly recommend The English (All day breakfast) great platefull of food well cooked n presented. I had one of the £5 specials.. 3 egg omelette with salmon and spinach served with fries... delicious... very pleasant restaurant with friendly helpful staff.... Will certainly visit again and have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.... thanks to all xx

What a huge disappointment this place is in customer service and satisfaction. They clearly can’t cope with a busy Saturday night. Went here Saturday night (21/4/18) with three friends who’d travelled up from London that day to spend the weekend at mine in Lichfield. So I thought this would be a good place to eat and show what the city has to offer. Our pre booked window  table was wrongly entered in the diary as 5 pm not 6 as requested. So when we arrived it was occupied. After some reorganisation they finally found us a table in the back area (not great) and took our orders for main and desert. When we were toward the end of our main we were asked if we’d finished even though myself and another were clearly still eating. That’s when it was apparent they needed the table back from us for another booking, one where the whole of the room we were in was booked for a 30th party! I then asked if they’d messed up again and the manager said yes they had but he’d now found me another table, a high stool booth type, not great for eating. We moved again. For this we got our table drinks for free, 2 bottles of wine and two glasses of soda, none of the food or the round of drinks bought while we waited for them to find us a table were refunded or reduced, which is appalling considering it was their mistake each time. At each stage of this fiasco I tried to accommodate their mistakes by not making a fuss and saying we’d wait while they sorted it and moved the second time quietly. We should not have paid for anything under these awful circumstances!

Visited at a very quiet time. Bright and airey with outside pavement seating in good weather. Good selection of real ale.
