Devo-Tea of Lichfield

About

We are a vintage cafe in the heart of the historical city of Lichfield serving cream tea, homemade soups and cakes.

Story

Devo-Tea is a tea room that aims to provide a warm welcome and excellent customer service of specialist teas and other drinks, some tasty homemade cakes and other light bites in a quaint and comfortable environment. The inspiration came from the famous Lichfield scholar, Samuel Johnson (born next door to the shop) who was a lover of tea, in fact it is said he was a devotee of the drink, hence the name Devo-Tea! James, Jae and all the staff hope to see you soon.

Great visit for a hen party afternoon tea party. Great choice of cakes and sandwiches and great veggie and vegan options too. Nice touches with the salad and coleslaw. Great to see proper clotted cream and no scrimping on the jam either 😉 would have been nice to see some fruit in the scones though. Nice service and we didn't feel rushed in anyway, all leftovers were boxed up and no trouble at all. Will visit again. Thank you

Visited DevoTea for the first time this weekend and it was lovely! When I called to book the lady was very helpful, and they asked about all sorts of preferences (bread, allergies, food preferences, etc). The tearoom itself is very cosy and comfortable, not ostentatious, just relaxed and welcoming. High tea for two is £13.50 per person, and it comes with fresh side salad and coleslaw, ~8 sandwiches, 4 generous cake slices, a scone each, lots of jam and cream, a soft drink, and tea or coffee. The sandwiches were good, especially the Brie and chutney. The cakes were very nice, I enjoyed the sticky toffee slice and earl grey ones the most. Only negative for the food was that the coleslaw had far too much mayonnaise in it. Service was very good and staff were so helpful and friendly - only negative here was that I felt it was slightly understaffed. That being said one staff member was so helpful when I asked her about places to buy antiques locally (as it was my first time to Lichfield). She recommended a great antiques shop near B&M, and it was exactly what I wanted! Overall I think this place has a lovely atmosphere and is very good value for money. Would love to visit again!
