Great club, great vibe! Love the retro look. **Ticket says show starts at 9pm BUT this means the DOORS OPEN at 9pm. The show does not start until 11:30pm***There are no tables, chairs to sit at before hand. They operate a no re-entry policy, so you can’t leave once you are in.
Wonderful old school East End venue with wonderful old school East End staff. Had a great night there celebrating the birthday of the women’s and nonbinary football club I play for. Didn’t want the night to end!
Used to be a great place but now it's simply not worth the hassle with all the security people who turned an event that was all about freedom into a prison like experience. Won't be coming back and I don't recommend. Very disappointed. Update: I didn't think it could be any worse but it did. Extremely rude security, absolutely don't care about the customers, only focused on their "rules" that unfortunately some customers have to be exempt from. Won't listen. Zero respect. Telling the paying customer that they are the problem! How does the manager of this place let that happen?? Certainly not inclusive. And definitely not a place for people with hidden disabilities as you'll end up being yelled at by security and having to explain yourself to multiple people before you're allowed to enter with your small medical accessories carried in a large but half empty bag. Ruined my evening again. Stay away! Also, filthy toilets.
One of London's secret places. Decent entry prices, Tickets can be booked online or bought at the door. Vere lovely stuff. Amazingly good booze prices. The place is got seating area and a dance floor. Smocking area without leaving the premises Good location and easy to find free parking Different missing themes for every weekend Absolutely a delight
The Bethnal Green is wonderful chaos. Costumes, shows, cheap drinks, better than average music, mixed crowd, queer and inclusive. It is a huge relief compared to e.g. Soho and well-worth the trip. On the downside: It gets super hot and the decor has obviously seen better days.
It's not the most modern of venues and it is certainly not the largest but it is certainly one of the friendliest. We went to see the Basement Orchestra's Christmas Concert, which was absolutely brilliant and riotously compered by Sheesus and the Sisters. The intimate atmosphere at Bethnall Green Working Men's Club really contributes to the enjoyment.
I went out here last night and must say it’s the best run venue I’ve been to in a long time. The bouncer was professional, friendly, had the interests of both patrons and the neighborhood in mind. This was also the only place of any in London I’ve been to since lockdown that has checked for vaccination status. This should be standard. Bar staff were friendly and quick. BGWMC understands nightlife/hospitality.
We had our 30th here and cannot recommend it enough. Everything went so smoothly, the venue is amazing, staff are lovely and drinks reasonable. 5 stars all round. XXXXX
Absolutely loved our first experience of Mimi's last night. You walk in feeling a bit like you've strolled onto the set of Peter Kays Phoenix nights but the music is great and the drinks are well priced. It soon turned into literally the best cabaret we have ever seen and was SO MUCH FUN!!!! The only reason it isn't getting 5 stars is because they made a 'straight' couple get off the stage when couples were coming up to show their affection for eachoher, which actually wound us up. What happened to it being an inclusive and friendly LGBT community where everyone is equal?
An iconic, gem in London, beautiful 60s interior and amazing, unique, colourful wild nights. Manages to be authentically old school east-end and at the forefront of London's queer, cabaret, and party scene. Me gusta, mucho. Go!
