This is the second horrendous experience we’ve had with 1AB Taxis. We pre booked two taxis several weeks ago for a family get together. We have a young baby and needed to guarantee we could get home. We were ready for collection, waiting on the doorstep. At our arranged time the phone rang once and hung up but no sign of either taxi on the street. We waited and waited. After 15 minutes we rang the 1AB to be told that WE were no shows and that there were no available taxis until nearly 3am and hung up on us. We called up to explain that we had a young baby and could not possibly wait until 3am and asked them to investigate what had happened to both drivers as we had booked two taxis. I was placed on hold and after a minute they hung up. After that they stopped answering any of our calls. We were left stranded on a freezing December night by this company who clearly were prioritising shorter journeys and profit over the welfare of its customers. We will never use these again.Service: Limousines
If I could leave less than 1 star I would. I spoke to a phone operator, told them the address I would like picking up from and I was told a time which I said was fine, as soon I said the village I was going to I was told there was no taxis available at that time, when I asked why considering I was told a pick up time they put the phone down on me. When I called back and got through to the same operator they were extremely rude and became very aggressive.
Absolutely screwed me over tonight, booked the taxi 11 hours in advance, taxi didn't show, blamed it on the time difference, called five times in a row and lied to about taxi arrival times which didn't show. After calling a 6th time told me the taxi had already arrived and left as I wasn't there so it's cancelled, utter liars, stood in the street freezing waiting for it each time. Called United taxis and they picked me up within 5 minutes, Use United in future if you want a hassle free experience.
The worst ever taxi service I ever had! Incompetent drivers! Used them everyday to work to and fro cost me £10 everyday, but they can just not pick you up! They drove passed your house and office and Not picking you up! Stopped using them for nearly 2 years I rather take bus and walk. If you complain they put down your phone. Never have the thought of to improve their service and educate some of the drivers! The Eastern European drivers were good.
Booked a taxi from Croft Hotel to Judges Hotel in Yarm and made the novice mistake of failing to ask for a fare quotation up front. Upon arrival at judges was hit with a £30 fare. Approx £10 more than it should have been. I called the office enquire but it was clear that the call handler and the driver were communicating with each other to align their story. Clearly a dishonest outfit. Avoid them but if you must use them get a quotation in advance and don’t leave it to the imagination of the driver when he sees your nice hotel.
I always used to use 1AB taxis. My score has nothing to do with the taxi driver as he was pleasant and friendly. This is to do with the booking - the automated service. I wanted speak to a human not a robot because the booking was to pick up others after me, it wouldn't let me do that and there is no option to be put through to the human operator. I contacted 1AB to complain via email no telephone number for this either and they told me to choose option 3 but there isn't an option 3!!! Not impressed. The driver told me that they get lots of complaints about the automated service but despite passing this on to the management, they aren't interested. Clearly 1AB don't want to provide excellent customer service anymore and care more about their profits. I wonder how many human staff have also been laid off now that they rely upon a robot to do their bookings?
NEVER USE THIS TAXI FIRM!!!! This company didn't turn up for a pre-booked 5.15pm journey to take us to the airport. After many calls being told it was 2 minutes away. We gave up at 6.30pm because we wouldn't have made the last check in time. Had to book alternative flights 3 days later at great out of pocket expense to us. Never use this taxi firm they're unreliable liars!!!! I would give them minus 5 stars if I could. Only gave 1 star because I couldn't post this review with zero
Book a taxi the night prior to wanting picking up and even after a text message confirming the booking, the taxi was a no show. Tried calling back this morning and couldn't get an answer. What???? Are you closed on a Monday and forgot to tell us. Ridiculous. Had to give 1 star to leave the review. Deserve minus stars.
Always late, even when pre-booked they show up late sometimes up to haof an hour, absokoute jike yet they get defensive when other taxi companies want to ooerate in the area because itll take away local business, sorry but if you arrived on time then people wouldnt want another taxi operator in the area.
I asked for a taxi when I got to Teesside Airport and was told it would be 10-15 minutes. It was closer to 25 minutes, but the main problem was that the driver didn't know how to get to Middlesbrough Train Station and twice stopped to ask someone out his window, meaning that I missed my train by the time we got there. Charging £25 from Teesside Airport to Middlesbrough train station also seems overpriced. I'll use Uber next time.
