I had a concerning experience with a doctor in the paediatrics A&E department. She displayed a lack of professionalism, was inefficient in her approach, and showed little empathy toward the children in her care. Her demeanor was dismissive, and her commitment to patient welfare appeared questionable. Given the critical nature of paediatric emergency care, I would expect a higher standard of dedication and competence.
12 hour waiting time. Patient seen in a timely manner for triage nursing staff. 12 hours plus-for a dr to review a patient is shocking!!nVery Rude abrupt receptionist too which it doesn’t hurt to come across in a kind caring manner instead of being greeted with abruptness absolutely no need.nSomething seriously needs to be done and a better system as other hospitals have.Wake up York this isn’t acceptable.
My son had surgery & all the staff were absolutely amazing from the receptionist to day surgery ward nurses, anesthetists, LDS liason nurse, recovery team & dental surgeons. Kept us informed during the long process where possible, reassuring my son & us at each stage of what was a stressful process & even the domestic played a huge part offering periodic refreshments & chatting away to reduce the anxiety while waiting. A great team effort to make the process go as well as these things can, a huge well done to all involved
The a&e department where absolutely amazing, they had a lot to contend with but they dealt with everything and as politely and helpful as they could be, one of the healthcare ladies even helped me outside when I couldn’t breathe and got me seen to appropriately and the wait time wasn’t too bad considering there was lots of people in and the nurse dealing with me was brilliant - so empathetic and they worked around me and was patient with me when I was panicking - I’ve had bad experiences but the staff on that day where absolutely brilliant
A twelve hour trip to A and E and still not seen. Patients vomiting and distress in the waiting room. Mentally and verbally unstable people in and out no area to treat them. Elderly people waiting twelve hours. People walking away who need help. Staff getting abuse due to waiting times. Basic procedures carried out in the waiting room, unbelievable. A cramped and over crowded waiting room. Not enough doctors. A system designed to cause maximum distress to patients and staff alike. A disgrace
