A hostel in a fantastic place with great access to a great town and beach front. Rooms are usually to a higher standard when we visit than this time. Broken furniture and dirt were just unexpected from what is usually a really well kept, clean hostel
Great location, downhill to the beach and steep but short walk back. Staff lovely and helpful, big kitchen, nice lounge, breakfast good, bedroom was excellent YHA standard. Only gripe was grotty guests not clearing up after themselves in the kitchen and expecting others to do it. Had a great trip and looking forward to staying again. We even saw this fella in the garden!
Came as part of a walking group. Best YHA I have been in. Close to the town centre and beach. Fantastic views. Lovely clean facilities. Hot showers. Lounge area and kitchen to access.
I stayed 3 nights and will be back. It's a short walk to town up a hill NB and you can see out over the coast from the upper storey.nBreakfast is good value as with all YHAs, rooms are basic but fine and everything is spotless.nThe lounge deserves special mention with its wood panelling and low lighting making it a very relaxing place - you feel like you have to whisper!nnOnly gripe - food stopped before the advertised 8pm
Helpful, friendly staff. Clean, tidy, fully equipped kitchen. Lovely Victorian building with a great view to the distant sea. Large, dedicated onsite parking lot to the end of the facility. Expansive, airy bunkrooms. Laundry/ drying room-always a plus. Just a hills walk down to city centre. Much to see/do in the area. Thomas Hardy country. Enjoyed it so much, I'm returning again tomorrow. Too short a stay only a couple of weeks ago. Highly recommended!
