Excellent location but a wee bit chilly as, whilst rooms 1&2 were toasty, rooms 3&4 were freezing. Old mill full of rustic charm, in need of TLC. Several showers cut out with low water pressure and some loos inoperable. YHA can do better, but we had a great weekend nevertheless.Rooms: 4/5
Beautiful building located in a lovely quiet area with plenty to see and do around you.Rooms: 4/5
We recently booked out Clun Mill for a stag weekend, and found the venue to be perfect for our needs. The bedrooms and bathrooms were really clean with crisp white bed sheets and plenty of showers / toilets. The kitchen was well equipped, and also had a decent sized dining/lounge area. There was also plenty of parking. Would highly recommend for a rural group weekend away. We also booked catering one evening through Batchcott & Waller, which I would highly recommend. They brought their own portable wood fired pizza oven which they set up in the garden, and were able to comfortably cook pizzas for our group of 25. The pizzas were delicious - perfectly cooked authentic bases with tasty artisan toppings. Would highly recommend if you are planning on staying at Clun Mill.
There are no childrens games mentioned in another review and the place is cramped and the floors are filthy which you will need to prevent your bedsheets from touching. Online it says there is free WiFi when there isn't any.
I stayed here in the 1970s.before Three Geese In Flight I can not recommend a more genuine feeling of true King Arthur's Britain than here. The mist and the gray forms into knights and castles and Ley lines into Other-worlds of wonder..Where trees and people appear and then reappear three centuries later. The Hostel is like no other in its feeling of a true travel haven. There was a kind and generous grandmotherly woman who ran a cafe in town. I sort of remember some steps leading down. Very traditional except for the excellent touch of a Neil Young song "Miner for a Heart of Gold" playing. Well the woman I traveled with turn out to have a hollow heart but this kind older Clun woman was so wonderful, Telling us how she loved to see young people traveling" and after serving us breakfast...Ready" Gave ME a five pound note!!! She insisted on me keeping it!!! Never forgot her. If you see her say hello, or of necessary say a prayer for her.
Stayed for a day as I was passing through. The building & facilities were great, and the people working there were v. kind and hospitable.
Lovely building, comfortable beds, bike storage and plenty of games for kids too
Nicely kept hostel. Hired as a group and it was a lovely location to enjoy a weekend in the countryside with friends.
Had a great weekend, enjoyed Clun and walking in the area. Snowed when we were there with ODL.
Very quaint. Run by a volunteer. I believe it was self-catering but there was a pub nearby with wonderful food.
