Fascinating site to walk around and soak up the history. Interpretation boards well done. Views excellent on a fine day. Surprisingly amount remaining to see after all those years and the scaffolding walk feels safe as you walk out into the main tower. All in all, very well preserved. Though tempting to climb straight up, if you approach over the river bridge, it is worth walking round to the right and coming at it gradually. Limited parking close by but there is good parking elsewhere in the town, if you can cope with a bit of a walk. Clun is an attractive place, in any event.

Beautiful and peaceful village in the heart of the Shropshire hills. Clun has a couple of nice pubs, tea and cake shops plus a car park with public loos and an interesting little walk over the river to the castle ruins with stunning views through the valley. Beautiful place to walk and have a picnic, bit steep but manageable, just watch your footing. Amazing view on all directions, definitely worth a visit.

Only giving 4 stars cos it's ruins rather than a 'castle', but worth a visit just for the views you get from it :)
