Visited last night for food. Lovely service and the food was delicious. I had the burger which I really recommend, and my partner had the fish and chips which he loved. Lots of games to play too which was very fun. Highly recommend.
We went for a mid week meal and were pleasantly surprised. Having been there a few times under the old ownership we were hoping for a similar quality. We were not disappointed, a food beer Arkels selection a decent wine list plenty of by the glass options and a small but nice meal selection. The whitebait starters are good, the rump steak was very good, the chickpea burger was a bit dry I never have this so maybe it's normal the Thai curry good. The baileys creme brulee very nice. Drinks and dinner for 4 £160 well pleased.
Food was great, lovely pub. Staff very helpful. My husband turned down an extremely large table as we'd booked for six but an additional two turned up to surprise us and the pub were brilliant, reseating us. Sorry for being a pain but we'll continue to use for our Christmas meetups as it's a half way meet for our families, more organised next time. Thank you
Lovely little pub, friendly staff and great food had an overnight stay here in one of there b+b rooms very niceRooms: 5/5
Good food and particularly well-kept Arkells beer make this pub well worth a visit. The fish finger sandwich isn't just supermarket fish fingers.
Very good food great service if you have not been GO.Service: 5/5
nice old pub, we didn't stay long, just for a quick drink whilst we were waiting to check into our accommodation nearby but the mulled wine was tasty and the food menu looked great.
This characterful old pub is a favourite with many locals. The food is good pub food and the service is friendly. Over several visits I have tried their burger, the fish and chips and the ham and eggs. All my meals were tasty and prepared in good time. My companions all seemed to enjoy their meals too! Another place I will visit again.
Just got home from a lovely weekend stay at the pub. Excellent accommodation, clean and comfortable. Friendly owner and Staff nothing to much trouble, Got me a fan for the room when I requested it on a very hot weekend. Good Food from a lovely Chef who took some pictures on arrival of us. Have booked again for next year. Well worth a visit if just for food in a quaint local pub Thanks again Mandy W
Working away all over the country, it’s safe to say you’re never quite sure what to expect. Ye Olde Red Lion immediately ticked all the boxes. A very warm welcome, a real genuine friendly atmosphere. Food was outstanding quality and the chap on the bar couldn’t seem to do more to ensure I got a fantastic experience. Waitress very friendly, polite and courteous. Whatever you are doing in terms of training, expectations of staff but more over allowing staff not to have to conform to specific robotic standards really makes this place shine. Personalities immediately shine through and I really look forward to staying again given the opportunity. A very well meant thank you to all at Ye Olde Red Lion
