Quality of the food was superb and generously portioned. And the staff were lovely.nnVery thoughtfully furnished, even down to the toilets! So feminine and well maintained.nWhat a perfect pub for such a pretty little town.
We loved the style and size of the room which we stayed in. There were some nice little extras. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. The food was really good but would have liked more roast potatoes on the Sunday dinner. Our only negative of the stay was the mattress. It wasn't comfortable, and it did affect our sleep, but we did sleep. However, there is a notice saying that they are refurbishing the rooms, so we are assuming the mattress will be included in that. The location was great. Ideal base for some lovely walks. I would recommend this place to stay.
Food was atrocious, chips were so hard I could hardly cut them never mond chew them and were so dry and cold. Fish okay but the battery was over cooked. Staff very familiar using 'mate' and 'guys' where does the latter term come from? Never even checked that our food was okay, but then again they probably knew that the chips were yesterday's. Only got a 2* because of the location - nice views while I was trying to cut and chew my chips.nnAlso not very nice to see the kitchen staff standing smoking. Please find them a discrete location out of sight.
This was my second visit and it didn't disappoint the food portions are good my favourite is building my choice of sausage and mash in a Yorkshire pudding 3 choices of each ingredient.nStaff are very welcoming and helpful,nWhile waiting for our food there are games you can play we played movie quiz game. There is also a good selection of beers nThe public area is very basic and suited to the pub and area so if you are wet and muddy after your walk you will not be out of place. It's a must to visit if you are around the area thanks guys
We stayed here for a night in June 2024. Excellent service the room was very comfortable and clean. We had evening meal which we both enjoyed. Breakfast was included and a wonderful lady, called Linda was friendly, kind and helpful. So cheers to Linda
