Another great experience visiting the olde mitre which has stood since around 1546 and has said that Queen Elizabeth danced around a cherry tree that once stood there with Sir Christopher Hatton. One of those places you have to know where it is to find it as it’s down a little alley. Was a lot bigger than I was expecting! The front of the pub is very small which I knew prior but there is back room that the bar goes to as well. Lots of tables outside down the alley itself and little tables round the where the men’s toilets are. Great selection of beers especially Peroni and Asahi which is great. Definitely will come here again!
Such a cool atmosphere! Very friendly people, great drinks, and excellent service! Can be a bit hard to find if you don’t know what/where you’re looking for, but it’s absolutely worth it! Really a tremendous pub experience if that’s what you’re looking for.Food: 5/5
Lovely old pub, great decor inside, beer is better than the other pubs we've been in this weekend. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Clientele was a mix of city boy workers and tourists. Worth tracking down.Service: 4/5
A lovely little gem of a pub, tucked away down narrow alleys. A good range of bottled and draft ales. Looks old, feels old and is old. That's what it's all about. Unfortunately, like everywhere else they have to keep up with current regs and have cameras, cables, etc spoiling the true character of the place. Didn't try the food, but it looked good
On our recent trip to London, we stopped by this pub because of the story of Queen Elizabeth and the Cherry Tree. It was such a cool and interesting place. They actually have the trunk of the cherry inside the pub. There's so many cool photographs on the walls showing times gone by. The bartenders were super friendly and told us many things about the pub that we knew nothing about. Definitely add it to your "to-do" list the next time you're in London, you'll love it!
If you're walking along the street you would never know the gem of a pub is there. Hidden down an alley, this place is one of Londons best and oldest pubs. Good chive of drinks and the food looked nice but didn't have any on our visit. If you can find it the you definitely need to visit, you won't be disappointed.Service: 5/5
What an awesome pub! Supposed to be the oldest in London. This is a real hidden gem. Go early or fight the crowds after 5pm!Food: 1/5
Wonderful historic pub hidden away down an alley. Closed at weekends. Great real ale. Can get very busy at lunchtimes and early evening, best to visit mid-afternoons. Might be difficult to move around if you are not fully mobile.Service: 4/5
In a side street from very fancy juveler street you will find this little pearl of a pub, small but worth a visit. Where there lunchtime on a Tuesday and it was very quiet. Not much of a lunch meny but ok.Food: 3/5
Lovely old pub hidden away down an alley. Great selection of ales and a fantastic feel about the pub. Didn't have any food so I can't rate this aspect of the Mitre. One of the wife and my favourite pubs in London.Service: 5/5
