Not fit for purpose!!! Visited with a suspected broken ankle/leg at 7.30pm on a Fri, radiographer had gone home, examined in car after banging on doors and insisting someone look at my son had closed early! told it’s probably broke, come back at 8am the next day. Returned Sat morning at 8am, radiographer didn’t turn up until 11.30ish. Sirona staff were apologetic, eventually reviewed an hour later, sent home with a boot. Visited BCH for review on Tues, now looking an an operation as should have been cast!
After my accident I came to Yate West Gate Centre in pain and upset. All the nurses were very friendly mainly the triage nurse who calmed me down and was lovely. Also was nice to talk about our miniature Schnauzers. Thank you also so much. Xxxx
Took my daughter here this morning after she fell and sustained a very nasty cut to her knee, requiring stitches. From start to finish, the staff were kind, caring and very patient. The male paramedic/nurse who stitched her up was amazing as she was very upset, he took his time, reassured her and she came out smiling!nThank you!
Had a great experience here at the yate minor injury unit. Staff very efficient and myself who went there with my partner felt very valued and looked after by the staff. We had a nurse Charlotte who looked after my partner who had broken his hand and she was very lovely and great at her job. The system seems to work here- no long delays, no waiting around they seem to have a great working structure in getting everyone seen to and getting the right outcome for each patient. You are all amazing!
We attended here with a suspected pulled elbow, the receptionist was lovely and the triage nurse was amazing! My son is autistic, non verbal and doesn't handle hospital settings or pain very well, yet she tried her best to entertain and take his mind off things. As for everyone else, me and my husbands concerns were brushed off as staff were all in agreement it wasn't a pulled elbow and was a pulled bicep even though we were explaining his behaviours holding his arm up was exactly like it was before with pulled elbow.nnWe got home and after half an hour watching our son struggle, we decided to just try what the a&e nurse did the last time, and after doing so there was a large click and within 2 mins he was using his arm again! Pulled muscle my butt!nnThere were other aspects of our vist that we are deeply unhappy with but I would just like to finish off with saything that in future please listen to what parents are saying, we may not have the medical degrees but we know our children! Don't brush our concerns off and perhaps some training for autism might benefit staff!
