** update: my Dentist diagnosed me with sinusitis, something my doctor would have picked up had they actually seen me ** Absolutely disgusted with the service provided by this practice. In severe pain and promised a call from the doctor and all I got was a text message. Went in to see the receptionist who put me down for another call back and all I got was a text again telling me to call 111 which I did and was told I needed to see the doctor so went back and was promised a phone call and surprise surprise I get another text. They have totally let me down when I needed them most. Doctors that don’t actually care aren’t what we need
Never had any problems except one receptionist not sure who she is on the phone had her a few times normally in the afternoon she says things like I can't be helped or I have to go the pharmacy but when I call next day speak to someone new they help me straight away not sure who this receptionist lady is but I recognise her once she's starts being blunt and rude aside from this person I have always had the best care from doctors and receptionist staff do there best except that one woman ‍
I recently left the military and registered with West Walk surgery and the process was terrible. The receptionist seemed to not understand my registration forms and then somehow lost them twice before finally registering me. My French partner has recently moved to the UK with me and has attempted to register four times now only to be told there is no record of her on the system. We tried twice in person with paper forms and twice online. It's either severe incompetence or the staff aren't willing to register patients who are different to their usual patients. You cannot justify losing someone's registration forms four times it is ridiculous.
Went on my break tried to get a doctor to see me but the receptionist Sam was so rude I said that it in my records I can’t have phone conversation anymore from doctors stressed That a lot because I self harm and have tried killing myself because othis she kept saying about phone call all she could and I’m disgusting in the way I was treated where is specifically says I can’t have phone calls I have to see a doctor face to face cos of mr mental heath, but patient before this she booked him for a doctor appointment !!! Disgusting in the way Sam treated me, it specifically says on my records I can’t have phone calls I have to come in and she didn’t care !!! Disgusting service
I recently had an operation which after 3 weeks resulted in a very serious infection.. At the time I didn’t realise how bad it was as I couldn’t feel anything - I just felt a little under the weather. I called and asked for antibiotics, I didn’t want to go in as I was working, the Dr insisted I came in for a check up lucky! Then I was very lucky that the nurse Sophie who checked me over, did it as thoroughly as she did - against my better judgment as I again didn’t think it was that bad! If she hadn’t I may not be here today - I was on the brink of septicaemia. Even though I’d clearly been a bit silly post-op and not rested as I should have - Sophie didn’t make me feel stupid, I was treated with respect and compassion. When I got upset and embarrassed, I was comforted. The doctor came in and prescribed me medicine straight away and the nurse also took a swab to make sure I had the right medicine for my infection and booked me a follow up appointment. My medicine was changed the following week because of this test which then ensured a good recovery - if not septicaemia the next concern would be necrosis thanks to their care this didn’t happen. It’s been three weeks and I’m nearly completely healed. I’m so so grateful for the care I have and continue to receive - I dread to think what could have happened to me if I didn’t go in that day or if the staff I saw weren’t as vigilant as they were. Forever grateful - thank you x
With the practice being as big as it is the reception area is way to small by only have one person acting as receptionist. this is the one single area in the practice that needs upgrading the West Walk practice mirrors the Coalpit Heath surgery having one receptionist despite Yate having a vastly bigger patient demand. Despite the hub on the top floor why did it take 7 hours to get through by phone to speak to someone on Monday 14th September 2020.
I have never had a problem with the staff always help out when I need to book appointments doctors are fine except for one hes rude but overall I like the surgery been here since I was 8 I'm 29 now good surgery receptionists helpful
I find all receptionists and Doctors very polite and helpful. I find if you treat everyone with patience, kindness and with respect for the difficult job they all do then this is reciprocated back.
Had my first covid-19 Pfizer vaccine two days ago. Wonderfully well organised, staff extremely efficient and caring, and literally not even a sore arm afterwards.
Doctors are professional and caring. Can always speak to someone if worried. Reception staff have improved. Although it is frustrating when trying to book appointments as there is always a a while to wait! Hence no 5 star!
