A bit oldish. Room had bath tub. Shower thou didnt spray so well. Remote control didnt work but staff replaced it after they found another suitable and working one. Location is good, basically other side of town centre and walking street starts in front and other side of town is the football field Racecourse. But the pub downstairs is excelent. Menu is superb. Great variety of pub food and something else too. Beer selection also great. Whiskey selection not so good. All and all worth every penny. Good choice.
Stayed one night at Wynnstay Arms in Wrexham. The location is very convenient, right in the town centre, so everything is within easy walking distance.nnThe overall environment and facilities are quite basic and a bit dated, but everything was clean, which is important. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, which made the stay more pleasant.nnBreakfast was provided – not the best, but still decent. Overall, not a luxury stay, but good value for money and a comfortable experience.
We stayed at the Wynnstay Arms Hotel by Marston’s Inns in Wrexham as a group of three three double rooms.nnThe service was consistently friendly and helpful. Whenever we had a question or needed assistance, someone was available immediately. The pub is a real highlight – great atmosphere, good hearty food and several fresh beers on tap. The central location is perfect; everything is within walking distance, including the Racecourse Ground, which was important for us.nnThe hotel itself is very historic and charming, which adds character. However, the rooms need updating. Sound insulation is poor and it can be noisy and cold. The bathrooms require renovation due to moisture issues, and the facilities in general feel a bit outdated. The beds were comfortable, though.nnBreakfast was good overall, but presentation could be improved and a proper coffee machine would make a big difference.nnOverall, a good stay thanks to the friendly staff and excellent location, but some investment in the rooms would significantly enhance the experience
Complete chaos from the moment we arrived, right from checking in, to no working toilet in the room and having to use the one for the bar, the shower throwing out hot lava, and being told we couldn't change rooms cos the hotel was full. Got a room change after lunchtime the following day for our final night. Hadn't booked breakfast - wanted to check out the food first before committing - the pictures in the brochure looked great. Completely different picture when we went for it the first morning. The kitchen was closed when we arrived the previous evening, so had been looking forward to the breakfast - badly labelled and laid out. Getting out of the hotel was not easy, until we realised it was around the back, which takes you to an unsignposted car park. The front door is also the pub door, so not open till lunchtime. The rooms are all a little worn - to be expected really. On a plus, room heating was good and bed was clean and incredibly comfortable. A little bit of extra noise in the second room but nothing desperate. On the whole the staff were pleasant, though could have offered us our money back and a transfer to another hotel - it was unacceptable to have no working toilet and not even be given an alternative, having to find it ourselves. Oh and room only had one toilet, even though we were booked for 2 people. And the first night cost £100! Won't recommend or stay again.
We arrived to check in about 3.45pm. At that time of day you cannot draw up outside the front of the hotel because of traffic bollards so you have to find the rear entrance which unless you know where it is can be very easily missed because the back extension is a modern building not in keeping with the facade. However once we parked and entered the reception we received a very warm welcome and were given our room keys and shown where dinner and breakfast would be served in the bar area. The bar itself is open to the public and has a good menu and good variety of drinks. We ate in the bar for dinner and had a very good meal. We also had cooked breakfast before we left which was excellent as was the continental selection and very good value for money.nThe bar area toilets had a very sticky floor.nOr rooms were on the first floor and clean and very warm. Ample tea and coffee and a small tv were acceptable. However despite being clean the bathroom is in dire need of a refurbishment, it is very tired to say the least. But the shower over the bath was hot and powerful and nice towels were supplied.nBed king size was comfortable with extra pillows if you needed them.nAll in all our room was good value for money for our overnight stay. Use it again? Yes we would.nAll the staff were polite and helpful during check in and at the bar.nI would suggest some hints on the website where to find the parking as we were told by staff they get a lot of phone calls about the location and access.
