The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The dog was made welcome. I tried to order food at 1154 and was told that unless it's 12, the chef could loose the tickets! Not ideal. They did however accommodate a small change to an item on the menu for a slightly fussy 5 year old. Very kind : The sausages and mash were excellent although the veg was a little tired. The chips looked good but somehow weren't great. They seemed greasier than you would have like. All in all a pleasurable visit with nice service.
Great 2 night stay greeted by Andy nice guy, friendly and warm. The room No12 was roomy with a nice size bathroom and a decent shower, lots of very hot water. We ate there on the Sunday night I had the Sunday roast the wife had the gammon both cooked and presented well. Had a few beers all in good order. Credit to all the staff who all worked with a smile on their faces, nice to see. Will definitely be back if we can get a booking!
Went there last night. Staff girls were very polite, smiling, even tho you could tell it was extremely busy. Very good service. Food is simply amazing! Definitelly one of the best pubs in Skipton. Fireplace, atmosphere... everything just right in there.Rooms: 5/5
Visited for Sunday lunch and lunch the following day. Both meals were great, but the Sunday lunch was really excellent, the beef melted in the mouth and lovely veg. Loads of delicious gravy - which was served on the plate, so if you like it drier ask for it separate. Huge Yorkshires and helpful friendly staff.
We had a family meal here and words fail me ... The staff were very friendly, the choice at the he bar was very impressive. The food choice was extraordinary, the prices were great, and the quality of the food was truly exceptional. They have highly qualified chefs, so not your usual 'pub food' it is absolutely worth a visit.
Wonderful pub, with the warmest welcome. Kudos to all the team; Andy, Andrea, Michaela, Ben, Freddy, Louis come back!, Emily, Liv, Jess, India, Matt, and Niamh... apologies to any I've forgotten. You're all stars and very much appreciated and let's not forget Julie
Sorry Woolly Sheep but the burger spicy black bean and onion was dreadful. Texture can be described as claggy- sticky which just sticks to the roof of your mouth and teeth. The spicy bit is so overwhelming that I had no idea what the ingredients were. I should add here that I live in the Bradford area and love spices which actually enhance the dish in question. On the plus side the staff are really helpful and the Timothy Taylor beers are excellent but I won’t be eating here again. Much better food at other pubs in Skipton just around the corner.
Excellent Sunday roast as always! The specials board is brilliant, but the normal menu is just as good too. Great, friendly service, great food! We really rate this place!Service: 5/5
Although a big Inn, it was cosy and warm with a good selection of real ale beers. If anything I would have liked a little more choice on lunchtime snacks menu as I felt more geared toward evening diners
Allergies were not take seriously when expressed and was served food which had been in contact with said allergens and a starter was needing to be replaced however due to cooking methods the item had to be changed. 3 out of 9 main meals were fully enjoyed. Would recommend the salmon and gammon. All desserts were either cold, undercooked, or 2 different temperatures in 1 dish. Management was dismissive. The customer was not right. The young waiter who served us was very friendly and apologetic however the waitresses and kitchen staff would benefit from allergen training.
