Story

Woodyz was opened on the 16th of September 2015 by two Porthcawl locals. Both worked in the services and catering industry before coming up with the idea to set up a pizzeria in Porthcawl. The idea came from a conversation in a trendy pizzeria in Covent Garden after drinking heavily following one of the six nation matches. 6 months later the shop was set up utilising the skills of local tradesmen and friends to create a authentic Italian Pizzeria. Emmanuelle, a third generation pizza chef from Rome, was employed who provided us with top class staff training and developed a pizza that catered for the Italian pizza lovers and also those who prefer something slightly more authentic. The ingredients are top quality and the dough is made on site using 00 Caputo flour which is rated the gold standard by the industry.

Disappointing again - so firstly we actually think Woodyz pizza is delicious which is why we keep giving them a second chance but our order this Saturday turned out particularly frustrating. There seems to be a problem getting your orders right. Twice previously we have ordered bottles of coke as part of our order and not received them despite being promised refund by the delivery driver I attempted email contact but no response. So that’s say £5. Then this Saturday placed a pre-order online for 5:30 our little one usually eats around 4:30 so we were pushing it - 5:50 no delivery, so called and was told 5mins no apology, delivery received around 6:15 - it’s not the end of the world but a phone call would have been nice the little one was getting very twitchy. The pizzas received were really small and missing toppings. Just annoying as very tasty! You’d expect better customer service considering the cost!

Some of the best pizza I've ever had. The crust is soft and bubbly, and the sauce is fresh and flavorful. The service is friendly and the food came quickly. Keep up the good work guys
Happy with previous orders but Paid £31 for two pizzas and delivery. They’ve now made the crusts even bigger meaning the slices are smaller and less topping. At least give people a choice of what crust they want or go back to how you used to do them.
Booked 3 pizzas for delivery was supposed to take be an hour took an hour an A half busy saturday I supposelooked,smelt and tasted very nice but arrived cold and was a bit soggy. Ingredients all seem of good quality. I will collect myself in future to get them warm from the oven.
First few were great but a huge disappointment last few times. From forgetting part of the orders to being nearly an hour late even though we picked a time for pick up we’ll in advance! Best yet, the garlic bread that was late meaning the pizzas were stone cold had no garlic on it!
Been meaning to order from here for ages and thankfully it did not disappoint. Had the super meat feast. Lovely thin base, yet did not fall apart with the substantial toppings upon it. No/little grease as opposed to what you normally expect. Can taste the flavours of the meats, especially the prosciutto ham, which was lovely. Only down side is that I had to drive home and so were not as steaming hot, as they don't deliver to pyle/Cornelly. Will likely be back again, especially over dominoes.
Ordered the food at 19:06 and the order was accepted with the expected time of arrival at 20:00. 20 mins after the food was meant to be here, there’s still so sign. I rang the restaurant at 20:16 to be told that the pizza was only then being made with no apology. The status on the website told me the pizza was ready for dispatch at 19:40 I’m 8.5months heavily pregnant and don’t believe that waiting over 90 minutes for two pizzas and three dips is acceptable. I could have ordered else where or driven to the restaurant myself if it meant a quicker delivery. The food finally arrived at 8:50 and they gave the wrong dips.
Very good and speedy service by the staff who were polite and professional. Food was delicious and piping and it was nice seeing the pizza's being prepared and made by hand rather than machine made in bulk! If ever I'm in Porthcawl again on holiday, I'd definitely be ordering again from here. Support local.
