After searching for Chinese takeaways and finding a lot of negative reviews on various places in Porthcawl, we decided to go with this one. So glad we did, the food was so good! It was still piping hot when we got back to our accommodation with it. The takeaway itself seemed to be popular with local people which is always a good sign. Portions were generous, everything was tasty and nothing was particularly greasy, even the prawn crackers. Would definitely recommend and would use again should we find ourselves in the area.
Food was excellent quality and good size portions. Everything tasted very fresh and staff were very friendly. We are staying in Trecco Bay and think they may deliver but we collected as only 3 mins away by car. In particular the barbecue ribs were really tender and the chicken was perfectly cooked in all of the dishes!
We were disappointed after reading all the reviews. Chicken curry was red? We have never had a Chinese curry that is red and sour tasting unless that is how it is done in Wales. Salt and chilli was over cooked and rock solid. Fried rice instead when we ordered boiled rice. Chips were nice.
BY FAR THE WORST CHINESE I HAVE EVER EVER EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. having to wait so long for collection we thought this might be a good sign... how wrong were we. My chicken bits were mushy and had the worst consistency I think I've ever experienced. The salt n chilli chips were undercooked with no salt no chilli, but loads of pepper and onion. The plain soft noddles were foul. Very expensive for small potions. Only 4 ribs per portion. Everything is buried in onions, LITERALLY EVERYTHING. We read all the reviews and although we thought the few bad reviews must have been just due to people's preferences... and all those good reviews from local people must have been a good thing... all I can say is.. BUZZING. If you honestly think that this is a nice meal.. then you seriously need to reevaluate your choices. We are staying at trecco Bay, we haven't travelled far, from burry port, and would have sooner driven there and back to get a real meal from a proper Chinese take away. Biggest waste of money and time. I only gave 1 star because i had to.. id deduct stars if I could.
Always great tasting food, authentic Cantonese. Very popular takeaway, very busy especially on Saturday nights. Don't be surprised if you cannot get through on the phone and, if you turn up to place your order on a Saturday night expect to wait up to 45 mins to take it home or 2 hours for home delivery, such is the popularity of this fab takeaway.
First time in sandy Bay. Choice of 3 takeaways. Chose this one. Absolutely awful. Red curry sauce ruined whole meal. What a waste of £30!!! Going to try one of the others tonight - fingers
