Woking lawn tennis and croquet club is located in a pleasant leafy green suburb of Woking. The club is on Pine Road, which runs between Hook Heath Road and Mile Path. The layout is a very traditional lawn tennis club with attractive high clipped mature hedges. The croquet lawns are well kept and there are active tennis box and external league matches to partake in. Overall I like it, though there are, as with any tennis club, the usual characters.
This place is very well kept up overall and has a cozy feeling to it overall. I had the pleasure of listening to an old gentleman explain to me the rules of playing crocket today. It was fascinating to finally hear how that fascinating game works. The resource has many tennis courts also, clay, concrete and grass. The parking outside is on one side of the street in front of the facility, so make sure to be ready for that if you are coming by car.
An Excellent Club in a lovely surrounding. Coaches are really friendly and there are many courts. I have seen some extremely good players from a very young age play and train here.
The best tennis club in the area, with friendly staff, great facilities, and a beautiful clubhouse.nFees are very reasonable, and the staff are helpful. Everything you would want from a sports club, with other activities available too.nWell worth checking out
Very bad experience playing an under 9 tournament. Referee Mathew Trevail was the referee and is a shame to the sport. My son was playing in a tournament and was cheated on crucial points. The referee who witnessed the whole thing said he could not over rule a poor call from at 8 year old boy and asked for the point to be replayed. This happened on more then one occasion and was witnessed by the referees but they would not do anything about such behaviour which is a disgrace to the sport. Instead I was lectured that despite that the whole affair was witnessed by him those would the rules of tennis and he said he could not change them. Really? Since when?nnI will never play tennis here again and I am raising this as a formal complaint to the LTA. Such coaches should not be allowed to coach or organise tennis tournaments as it discourages fair play and shameful for the sport.nnNice club but avoid playing tournaments at all cost.
