Wisteria Tea Room

About

Ideal place to meet friends for tea / coffee and lunch, (not forgetting homemade cakes) in our charming Tea Room.

Story

Welcome to a fine English tea room in the vibrant North Norfolk market town of Fakenham. Come and enjoy morning coffee, light lunch or indulge yourself with one of our Cream Teas after 2 pm. Our cakes are all homemade along with jams; ingredients are also sourced locally wherever possible. All in the company of possibly the oldest wisteria in East Anglia, reputed to be over 200 years old.

We are closed all day on Monday. Open Tuesday to Saturday 9 am to 3 pm. We are open from 12.00 pm to 3 pm on the second and last Sunday each month, for a traditional Sunday Lunch. The menu for the next Sundays, along with the dates, can be found on our website. Pre booking by the preceding Thursday for each Sunday on 01328 851247 is recommended.

Whilst we do not claim to be a gluten free Tea Room, we understand the importance of supplying gluten free products. With this in mind, a high percentage of our menu can be adapted to be gluten free.

Whilst there are building works going on next to us, the footpath from Queens road car park will remain closed. Access is via the far left hand corner of the car park to Norwich Street. Then turn left, go past 3 shops and you will then find yourself at Newmans Yard. The footpath has to remain closed for safety reasons. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

Popped in randomly and treated ourselves to a coffee and a panini! The goats cheese and beetroot panini was lovely! Great surprise on our ramblings of Fakenham. Thank You!

Although wisteria tea room is tucked away it is well worth going to. Not just in may, to see the absolutely stunning wisteria but the selection of cakes is very good. I had homemade rhubarb and custard cake, it was delicious. The rhubarb was even organically grown by the owner. The coffee is possible the best I have had and can thoroughly recommend visiting here.

Fantastic cosy tearoom. The chocolate and courgette, yes not a typo, courgette brownie is to die for if you like sumptuous and velvety flavours and texture. I found the tea to be just as I like it but read a review saying it wasn't so good. I guess it's personal taste but I let it brew for a while and poured a perfect cup. Really recommend calling in if you get the chance for a cosy place, great service and something different to tickle the taste buds.
