Well what a hidden gem this place is. We had the ultimate double beef ghost chilli burger, the ultimate veggie burger, scampi and chips and a prawn cocktail, firstly the presentation was delightful, then when we tasted it it blew us away, big thanks to John our host who was informative and polite. A very well laid pub with a garden and seating area, if you are in the area give it it a go. We waited no more than 15 minutes for our food although it wasn't too busy.
Lovely helpful staff. great range of delicious food at really affordable prices and great for the family budget. Good location for Thursfurd Sandringham and the coast just of the A148 at Fakenham. Plenty of parking
Great place to eat.nWe were welcomed the moment we walked through the door, asked if we had any allergies. Then shown to a table.nStaff very friendly, service was very quick, there was a good choice of food .nWill definitely eat here again.
Had a fabulous Valentine's meal at the Running Horse in Fakenham. We were met and served by the lovely Toni & very funny in a good way John.nHad a very nice meal fresh, well presented, and tasty that was unrushed and NOT accompanied by overloud music, screaming children or deafening footballnWas a little saddened that the pub wasn't a bit busier, as it is a lovely place a little dated but GREAT FOOD & SERVICEnDavey stuck to tried and tested favourites - garlic mushrooms then steak. While I decided to try something I'd never had before - kebab pizza. They took the jalapeño off for me & shaped it into a heart - such a cute touch!nDesserts: this time I stayed traditional with apple crumble, while davey wet for their take on Jaffa cake puddingnAbsolutely fantastic. Good portion sizes, reasonably priced. Cooked fresh and well presentednQuite a few other things on the menu that I'd try, plus a couple of nice sounding veggie options for MothernIs it posh? No. But then it's not overpriced or pretentious either.nJust a nice pub, with a relaxed feel, decent food and lovely staff
I ordered the Thai veg curry. It turned up without the flat bread that was ment to accompany it, that’s not a massive issue but I had to sort it out and it shows the chef was not concentrating which showed in the poor quality of the curry !nnThe portion of curry was small more like a child’s serving.nThe biggest issue for me was the curry although it tasted ok there was a lack of veg I think I saw 1 slice of red pepper a couple of small slices of Choi sum and two pieces sweet potato, I didn’t see any bamboo shoots as advertised! The sauce was quite runny, as there were no spoons on the table this I couldn’t finish.nThe annoying thing is that it’s the same price as chicken Tikka Masala, so why wasn’t there more vegetables in there it really was quite pathetic ! Priced at £14.29 I expected something a lot better !
