Excellent Sunday carvery. It's serve yourself on the vegetables so every appetite catered for which sadly means a lot of wasted food as eyes are often bigger than tummy. Very generous helping of meat too. Staff helpful. Nice beer. £14.95 each carvery plate. Plenty of space but suggest booking and asking for conservatory seating.
Went to the windwhistle today with a party of 13 adults and 1 child. The service was excellent, the food was lovely. We all had the carvery it was very nice and the pudding was to die for. Can really recommend this pub for it's food. Thank you so much for having us it was great for us as a family gathering.
Hadn't visited in a long while and it felt that the interior had been updated which made it feel a lot brighter than I remembered. We went for an evening meal this time and although relatively busy easily got a table. Food, drinks and service was good so would recommend it.
Unfortunately, it's not a good experience. Sunday carvery very average but that would have been fine but for the way we were treated when we arrived. So my friend had booked a table & had the proof with her. There was no table for us when we got there. We were put on one with a very shallow bench & table not laid up. We asked to move to a more comfortable table. The shift lead/ manager was so rude to us because we dared to ask for a decent seating arrangement. So won't ever go there again
Called in for lunch today with a friend, asked for a meal that was gluten free. Sadly the meal was most definitely not gluten free and the food was not edible. Chips were recorded chips and not freshly done. Gammon was way too salty. Spoke to a lady over messenger to tell her I had been ill due to the food not being gluten free and got told I was a liar. Great well done windy! Definitely won't be recommending and won't be eating there again! What happened to the customer is always right?!
Had lunch there today, glad I had booked or we wouldn't have been in the cosy bar. I had a burger with cheese and bacon, coleslaw and skinny chips. Burger was delicious as was the coleslaw which was homemade. Orchard Pig Revellers cider topped off a lovely meal, we'll be back!
Visited for a wake after funeral at Cricket St Thomas. Food was very good buffet. A mole car park. Handy stop on A30 outside Chard
Went to the Thursday Curry night . £15 including a pint!! Food choice was a simple buffet and all options were well presented, fresh and tasty.
Nice place to stop for a meal, decent pub as well. Not expensive. Big car park
Went to the wednesday carvery today with a group of 18, lovely food and good friendly service, would definitely go again.
