Myself , my missus went there for an evening meal. Having not been there for a year roughly . The place was busy , the menu nicely varied. We had a lovely bbq chicken meal , food was lovely. Only reason it wasn't a 5 star . The chips were warm not piping hot . It's unusual I know and maybe a one off . But food needs to be served red hot,as I say probably a one off as the other half's and her daughters were all warm as well. Which isn't great having all been ordered at different times. It's a bug bear of mine. Chips , fries etc should be red hot not warm. The atmosphere was excellent and the service table to table was brilliant. 5/5 for that. Out of all my pub reviews this one just didn't hit the mark. The arrow another pub in Yeovil serves lovely hot fresh food. Sorry to the Bell but I like my reviews to be honest and unbiased
Very friendly staff. Visited with our team of 14 for a member of staff leaving. Size of group and volume of orders did not give service. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Not the best selection of beers etc hence the rating of 4star. Busy pub with good atmosphere. Recommended if you're a group or have kids also. Picture is quadzilla burger. Large plate! Meat sweats after. Would return
The serving staff were wonderful, however the children's meal wasn't very nice. The corn on the cob was grey and looked old. Peppercorn sauce on the steak was watery and not very nice. The battered hallloumi was really good though and the steak cooked well.
Friendly staff and good value food. Enjoyed the "Parmo" as I normally have to go up to Boro for one. Had a nice pint of Speckled hen, well I say nice it was well kept but as all pubs in the south it comes without a proper head. Went for a game of Texas hold'em. They couldn't have been more welcoming. As one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's characters once said "I'll be back"
Was pleasantly surprised with the recent visit to the Bell Inn. Have been previously a few times and has been I would say average, however this time found the mains to be of a very good standard especially the tikka stack. Not sure if there has been a change in the chef and or menu since last time, but definitely an improvement. All the staff were helpful and friendly and happy to help and rectify a slight issue with dessert.
I took my partner here for her birthday meal, Well laid out for Covid safety, the staff here couldn't have been more helpful even going to the lengths of moving us to another table due to being near a door that had to be opened due to keeping air flowing through and we were cold, they moved us straight away. Very friendly staff the minute we walked into the pub to be seated, even having a laugh with us, making sure we were okay. The food was incredible! I recommend the full monty grillI recommend here.
We had a rump and a sirloin. Perfectly cooked. Crunchy fries and onion rings. Jalapeño ranch dressing and coleslaw. Service was fast and accurate. Delicious food. Highly recommended.
Omg!!! So bit if a update. Literally just finished my meal and I'm so satisfied and full. Had the gammon omg cooked perfectly and the beef dripping sauce I would of been happy to have a bowl of that. Never a bad meal and staff are brilliant
The staff are friendly and helpful. Mon-Fri food is pretty nice specially the burgers. The desserts are decent and there's a good enough selection too. Unfortunately the roast dinners are terrible. The carrots are raw, the mash potatoe tastes like something from a packet it's literally that bad, the meat is hit and miss so either too dry or too soft. It's a shame they can't grasp this because they're missing out on a massive amount of money, they need to improve the food as they'll get repeat customers including ourselves. I would assume they know it's not great being most of our plates we're still full when we left.
Jemma madge was so helpful. She sorted my large booking when I couldn't do it on the website and then she went that extra step by decorating the birthday table, once I dropped bits in as I didn't have time. I would really recommend her service xx
