Okay pub it you want a quick drink at a quiet time however the pub will serve well known regulars over you even though you have been at the bar much longer than they have, the management don’t stay longer than a year leaving little familiarity with the place! And if an incident happens. such as tonight when my friend got struck by an umberella that Wasn’t weighed down correctly, the staff will not care and think of it as a laughing matter!

Love the San Miguel in this place! Large screen and smaller screens showing sky sports. Clean and friendly.

Always a nice relaxed atmosphere mid afternoon on my rare day off. The Bar staff always friendly and greeted with a smile.

Went here as a party of 11 including 4 children. Phoned to book a table but told it wasn't necessary. The reason we chose this venue was the fact that it offered a good range of gluten free options and as 4 members of the party have celiac disease (including a 4 year old toddler) thought we would give it a try. We used to go in the pub when we lived near to where it is but haven't been for years and it will be years or probably never till we go there again.........WHAT A DUMP! When we phoned to enquire about booking a table we told them that it included 4 children under the age of 4 so would need high chairs but on arrival we were told they only had 1? Not a good start. The pub is filthy, tatty well worn seats worn out carpets and long overdue a refurb,it was just the same as I remember it the last time we went there over 10 years ago. No-one in our party enjoyed the food I won't go into detail but let's just say none of it was worth eating no-one in our party finished their meal its no wonder they take your food money when you order if they didn't they wouldn't have to many people paying. Compared with other venues in the local area the Winding Wheel comes bottom of my must go again list. Very disappointed and would advise anyone looking for good food in a nice clean environment to go elsewhere.
