Love it here. Although it gets really busy in summer and parking can be difficult. You need to get there early to guarantee a parking space, but it's the same all over the Lakes because it's so popular. Plenty of places to eat and interesting places to visit. It's a great place to use as a Base for exploring the Lakes.

Awesome views. Think lake Como in Italy but hey speak English. But you can't always get the great Italian sun. Both great and 2 lots of awesome people ☺

This is a town nestled in lake district itself. A lovely lakeside town which seems very cozy and peaceful. It is well connected to the rest of the district and being on the lake is pretty lively in the day.One can go for long drives around the lake area passing through the small towns as well as visit William Wordsworth's home here.Typical small boutique hotels, B and B accomodations and tiny shops are dotted everywhere.A calm and serene area ..far from the madding crowd.

I love the lakes in general. WINDERMERE is very nice but not my favourite lake. ULLSWATER is defiantly my favourite. If your at the lakes try to spend at least a whole day from early morning into the evening and watch the sun go down and explore a couple of lakes at least. You won't be disappointed. Lots of places to eat and plenty of hotels and B&Bs to choose from on any budget really. Book through one of the discount Web sites for the best deals. I would suggest not just turn up at a hotel in hope as there often fully booked even in winter and you will pay the highest possible prices this way. Book first I would say via a compare site and enjoy a relaxed and healthy visit to one of the most beautiful parts of England. Wild life lovers won't be dissapointed either.
