Not very reliable waited in all afternoon had to ring at 4.30pm to see where they were and the the fitter was just in the shop picking up my lino and calling to mine on there way home I have bumps all over and it's not stuck down in a lot of places round edges. I caught my fridge on one of the airbumps and ripped it the job definitely was not done right
Absolutely horrible experience. At first, things seemed to be going well - got great help in store selecting the right carpet, booked measure and fit, measure all went well, see you Monday for fit etc. But then the fitter never showed up and it was the bank hol, so no one to contact . Turns out, the order hadn't been placed. We'd been told we pay at fit - that is incorrect, we were supposed to pay for goods up front, and pay for fitting on the day. As we've never had a carpet fit before, not sure how we were to know this, when we were not informed, and we're told everything was going ahead! Not only that, but they hadn't even noted down what carpet and underlay we had selected, so I had to go in store to correct all this. When I explained what had happened, the woman at the counter simply laughed and belittled me, passing sarcastic comments to another member of staff, referring to me as if I was not stood right there. Completely unprofessional and unapologetic too. Decided to purchase elsewhere.
If anybody is considering a new carpet DO NOT USE WILSONS PONTEFRACT We booked in our fitting for yesterday. I waited in from 1pm as per our arrangement , by 4pm nobody had shown so I thought it best to ring to see everything was still on I aren’t an unreasonable person and accept that this time of year is hectic in the retail industry I was informed my carpet was out with the fitter and they would be there and to ring back after 5 if nobody had shown up. Rang at 5.30 - they said they would call the fitter to see what was happening , I gave my number and just asked for an update either way. 6pm - shops closed , no call , no update and still no carpet. I waited in - nobody showed. 5 kids, a cat and a dog with an unuseable kitchen due to my front room furniture in there- perfect night ! This morning - nobody called , still no carpet. Rang at 10.30, received lots of excuses but no resolutions. Informed that the fitter had told the shop that there was no underlay with the order so it was never going to be fit - thats the case then why did the carpet leave the shop ??? I have had to sort our own fitter and go collect the carpet as there was no effort to resolve this error . Upon collection at the shop there was no help - staff watched my husband and father in law struggle to load it on to the van with no offer to help. Had we not needed this carpet desperately the order would have been cancelled . With over a decade in the retail sector I know what customer service is and this is completely unacceptable. Do not use.
Disgusting customer services, rude and unhelpful staff. Also no idea how to crack a smile, cant believe how they have a front of house job. Quoted me a ridiculous price, save a journey and head across the rod to the other carpet shop nearly saved a grand on carpets from the other shop. I would avoid wilsons at all cost
The carpets are lovely but the people who fit them are terrible, they got glue on the carpet which "burnt" it, none of the edges were under the skirting boards and the doorway grippers are coming up ive had to pay someone else to properly install them. Disgusting for the money they charge
The carpet and vinyl flooring is very nice, would have given 5 stars but not very impressed with the fitters that put the flooring down.
Very pleased with the result of my stairs and landing carpet. From ordering with Amanda, to the fitting with Carl and Brett was excellent. Had a few problems with the tartan carpet that I had chosen, but wasn't suitable for my stairs. But very pleased with the results of the alternative carpet. Would recommend and definitely use again.
Great experience, would highly recommend! Sharon D in the pontefract store was a star! She recommended the perfect carpet for our stairs and organised quotes, fitting and delivery of our wooden flooring. The job quote and fitting was really quick and efficient can’t fault anything! We purchased wooden flooring for our bedroom also, it was no hassle to return the extra packs we didn’t use. Great value for everything, we will certainly use you for all our flooring needs in the future. Thank you!
Disgusted bought and paid for a mattress for my 73 year old mother to be delivered and despite a phone call and reassuring me they would be here never turned up leaving her without one ,I'm fuming
Fantastic job from start to finish. Really helpful advice in the showroom helping with my dodgy measuring and not pushing priciest carpets. Fitting was planned over two days but got 3 bedrooms and stairs and landing done in 3 hours. Guys helped move some heavy furniture too. Highly recommend!
