Had a friend visiting from abroad & specifically brought him here after a walk on nearby Rye Harbour beach & nature reserve. Helpful friendly staff, good selection of local ales and cider. The fish and chips was beautiful quality. An excellent example of the classic English dish. Lovely piece of fish and light beer batter. Clean tasting. There's an honesty to this place, it's not fine dining. Decor is rustic, it's an authentic coastal pub with wooden floors and dog walkers are welcome.
A great pub serving good beer and Cypriot-themed menu, plus burgers, fish & chips etc. in a nice location in Rye Harbour. Well worth a visit. Will certainly be coming here again !
Great service, great food. We always stop here when visting Rye Harbour. We had the moussaka which comes with a Greek salad.we ordered a side of pitta bread. The menu is a mix of Greek Cypriot and traditional English dishes. Our meal was absolutely delicious. We sat outside to enjoy the good weather. Highly recommend.
We were staying in Rye Harbour in a holiday let and booked this pub for dinner on our first evening knowing it was half term and thought it might be busy which it is, so def worth booking. Great location, lovely friendly staff and delicious food at reasonable prices. Enjoyed our meal so much, we booked for another two evenings during our five night stay which is unusual as we normally like to try different places - enough variety on the menu to keep us wanting to come back again! We ate a selection of dishes between the four of us both from the kids and full menu and both Cypriot and traditional pub dishes and all were served piping hot and very tasty/home made quality. Will def recommend to anyone down in this direction. Book in advance though to avoid disappointment.
Have been hear twice now and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the pub, the food is predominantly Greek in style but still you can get a traditional fish and chips, however I had a Greek burger served in pita bread, no complaint about the food, but as the burger and Greek salad were all in the pita bread it made it difficult and messy to eat. The pubs location is next to The River Rother and there is plenty of seating in and outside to eat and drink, there are also some lovely walks along the sea wall to the sea and passing the lovely Red Hut that's a phot opportunity not to be missed
This pub is a great and unusual find made more so by the fact that if using the restaurant, the owners allow camper vans overnight use of the pub’s car park. The pub offers rural charm and a warm and cosy interior. There is also a great selection of ales and a menu offering both traditional British and Greek specialities. If in the area for nature walks a stop over is highly recommended.
First time visiting this evening. A lovely atmosphere with very friendly, attentive staff. A varied, reasonably priced menu to cater for most tastes. We had garlic mushrooms as a starter, followed by fish and chips, peas, tartare sauce. All cooked to order and excellent quality and quantity. I definitely recommend the Whitstable Bay draught, too. All in all it's a lovely friendly place that we'll be back to very soon... We came back two days later. Different staff but the same friendly atmosphere and excellent quality food...
I went to this pub to meet a friend. I booked on the phone, to ensure that we had a table. No problems there. The person who took the call was helpful and efficient. We arrived slightly early, but the table was ready for us. We took a while to order our food, but the staff offered us drinks and quickly provided them. To eat, I had Moussaka and salad. I like Moussaka and I've had good ones and bad ones. The Moussaka at this pub was fine. It was just big enough to be filling, but not too much. It tasted good. The salad that came with it was nice. I enjoyed both. My friend had the chicken skewers and she enjoyed them too. We had a tea and coffee after eating and they were fine. The bill was a reasonable price and overall I was very happy with the pub and the food. No complaints from me.
Family and dog friendly. Nice place for a pit stop. Lots of people eating so I can only assume its good food too.
Great pub great location can't speak for the rest of the menu but the fish and chips stay well clear
