I have used this place a few times for a quick sandwich as I occasionally work 10 minutes away, and remembered that their sandwich s are the best for miles around, on this occasion I drove there for an early lunch as I was in the area.nThis place is consistently busy but after waiting a short while we got seated. Service was really good. Staff was very pleasant.nFood was fresh and of very good quality. You can tell locals used this place a lot and that might have something to do with the many greats of this place, there are lots of choice on the menu. This place is also well-known for its fish and chips.
Disappointing...the fact they charged me an extra £1.90 for a minuscule portion of mushy peas and extra £1.70 for an even smaller portion of tartar sauce that was about to ferment, tells me this place is not what it used to be. Also, I had to ask for extra ice cream on my milkshake since it tasted bland, this never happened to me before, they solved it quickly though. On the other hand sausages were very tasty but overall...disappointing

My partner comes here often so I expected better food. The goats cheese tart was just about ok but the accompanying salad was poor. Looked like left over potato stew from a previous evening meal that had been served cold. Service was great.
It is a great location and amazing food. I had a Farmers Roast, which gave me the best of both worlds because I couldn't decide between the lure of a roast and a salad on a hot day.nSo, I had salmon, salad, and roast potatoes, much of which is local, or geown/raised by the active farm land it's situated on.nMy partner had the full roast, and both looked and tasted great. It's definitely worth a revisit. Thank you
