White River House Hotel

Sadly, the hotel has changed owners since my last review and is now under new management. I had worked with Henry and Michael and the entire team at White River House since they took it over a few years back. And boy, did they transformed it. With a brilliant and ever evolving menu from Michael and a year round events programme from Henry, the hotel had become something of a destination in its own right. With quality local ingredients, super friendly and attentive staff, a warm atmosphere and plenty of parking, its a great spot for afternoon lunch or evenings out. I don't know whether the new owners will continue with this, but I'm sad to see Michael and Henry go.

Attended a conference and stayed over, the facilities were great. It's come along way from the days of Arbies! We'll definitely be back.

Highly recommend this place for food good value and GREAT taste I'm a vegetarian and had plenty of choice everyone at the table was envious of my goats cheese tartlet which was fantastic and garlic chips beautiful. We visited on Sat 24th March we were a table of 9 and whichever young waiter (male) was serving our wine was very charming and was cracking jokes with us all never got his name but excellent service indeed, will be back

Friendly staff. Lovely food. Drink isn't horrifically expensive and there's a decent choice. Lovely rooms. Plenty of parking. Good spot for a wedding reception.

We had our wedding here on 2nd September 2017. We had no faults with anything . MIcheal was there from the start of the planning and there throughout the whole day, any issues that did arrive was quickly solved with no hassle :-) . Staff was lovely and helped in every way they could and everyone enjoyed their meal had no complaints :-) , we also stayed with some of the family that night and the rooms were spotless and beds were comfortable. Brilliant service overall and brilliant for catering a wedding :-)
